On Wednesday via X, Donald Trump Jr. alleged that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) — an ally of President Donald Trump — is “lying thru his teeth” with his recent comments on the administration’s memorandum of understanding with Iran.
Speaking with The Daily Wire on Wednesday, Cruz said of the deal to end the conflict in the region:
What has been released so far suggests that, unfortunately, the president is getting, I think, very poor advice when it comes to this deal. History teaches that giving billions of dollars to theocratic lunatics who want to murder us is a bad idea. Under the terms of what’s been released, somewhere between $10 billion and $30 billion will flow to the Ayatollah immediately before they make even a single nuclear concession.
I think that’s ill-advised. That money, if it goes to the Ayatollah, will go to fund terrorists trying to kill Americans and weapons that will be used to try to kill Americans. And it also appears to formalize a permanent role for the Islamic regime controlling the Strait of Hormuz. It is difficult to see what possible benefit to America could come from that.

The only problem with this quote is that @tedcruz is lying thru his teeth about the deal. We're not giving them a cent and he knows that. Using fake news about the peace deal to undermine @realDonaldTrump is the opposite of MAGA.

What’s happening is that the Gulf states are unfreezing frozen Iranian funds. Initial reports were that the Iranians were cutting separate deals with them. unfreeze funds in exchange for no missile attacks. The USA could not actually stop that from happening.

When a country seizes US assets, those assets belong to them. The reverse applies as well. It’s important to live in the present.
Tell me when US assets stolen by communists in various countries lead to full repayment to the US. They seize; it’s theirs. We seize; it’s ours.
Sometimes the same applies to loans. Tell me when “Lend/Lease” results in full repayment of loans to the US.
Don’t tell me that we seized, so it belongs to them. No one else plays by those rules.

NO. Take a high school level class GED and learn that the Constitution expressly earmarks that expenditures come from Congress not the Presidency. A President does not spend $TRILLIONS on his own and whatever was/is spent on the Iran mess was earmarked years ago.
I realize they are frozen assets. They should remain frozen until Iran becomes a peaceful nation and renounces terrorism, or until hell freezes over, whichever comes first.

But we are allowing there funds to be released to them. Yes it is not American money but never the less they will have access to billions of dollars to fund their proxies to terrorize the west again.
