MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred now has a real problem; the league can claim uniform neutrality, but neutrality gets harder to believe when the approved messages all seem to point one way. Pride Night caps, Pride jerseys, alpha-mafia celebrations, drag performers, special ticket packages, and corporate-sponsored messaging are treated as baseball culture.
Christian players who answer with Scripture get a warning.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) sent Manfred a letter demanding answers. Hawley asked for MLB's uniform regulation, records of warnings or fines over the past five seasons, and any policy covering whether players are required, encouraged, or expected to wear Pride-themed gear.

OK, it has been a long time since I played ball.
Can the pitcher’s foot come off the rubber before he releases the ball?

It’s their bus. If the players wish to ride on it, the reward is big bucks and the possibility of earning a career in a few years. The players don’t have to play baseball if they want. It was their decision to sign the contract for the reward. And they were aware of the rules and how it works before they dotted the line. They made their choice.

The possibility of putting something that could resemble a ball could be placed and create an illusion of a baseball or something shiny to confuse the batter during the windup and pitch. Safety more than anything as the ball coming in at in some cases more than 100 mph requires the batters full attention to the ball and not averted. Gaylord Perry, a long time pitcher in the MLB used to throw a “puff ball” which consisted of putting a bunch of rosin from the bag on his hand and when he threw the pitch the rosin flew around the ball like it was coming out a cloud. It was outlawed. It wasn’t illegal until they made it so.

Collective refers to anything formed by a group of individuals acting as one. That can mean a sports team, congress, an army, a voting base...almost anything that has an agenda.

MLB is the owners. They own the league, the rules, the games, and they take the responsibilities of the gains and losses of worth. They make the rules, they decide the punishments for infractions, and they present a product to the public to make money or satisfy their egos. If the public likes it enough to pay for it, it prospers. If they can’t give the customer what they want, it withers and dies.
A perfect example of this is pro basketball. The men’s leagues have morphed into an almost totally different game than was formed in the 1940’s. Last year every single franchise is extremely wealthy, with even the lowest-valued NBA team worth approximately $3.5 billion, while the Golden State Warriors lead the league at $11 billion. And they generate far more than that. That’s just for the inventory.
On the other hand, the WNBA operates as a solvent business, primarily because it is heavily subsidized by the NBA. While the league has historically operated at a financial loss, its overall valuation and revenues are surging, driven by massive new media rights deals and increased sponsorship by television and the merchandise sales. It’s all in the presentation and the capacity of the game. The fans want more violence and the NBA provides that. This is something the WNBA is just now going to and it is increasing profits. At least four major professional women’s basketball leagues have failed in the United States, alongside several minor and lower-tier organizations. They couldn’t sell a product of grace, techniques, and team play. So they went broke. If the league doesn’t morph with the customer, it will go as the past leagues. And the owners call the shots.

3.03 Player Uniforms
(b) Any part of an undershirt exposed to view shall be of a uniform solid color for all players on a team. Any player other than the pitcher may have numbers, and /or letters, insignia attached to the sleeve of the undershirt.
Yesterday I was watching a game highlights reel with one of the teams being the Florida Rays. All the Rays players that were fielded had blue undershirts, but one player very noticeably wore a long-sleeved bright red undershirt.
They shouldn’t have put it on the cap. They violated the rules. And if you have rules, they are the liability of all. If you don’t like the rules, then lobby to change them going through the players association. Otherwise, the players have a contractual obligation.
I agree that all the players should obey all the rules. But if you're going to make rules, you have enforce them consistently and fairly and not make exceptions because it is religious in nature.
The left really has coopted thte gay movement for their nefarious purposes. Lots of gays have no desire to alter religion, marriage. I had a gay uncle that just passed away at 88. He and his partner of 55 years thought gay marriage was not something they ever even thought about. They didn’t want cross dressers in the wrong bathrooms, etc. Not that they didn’t support the gayness and crossdressing or try to tamp it down. But nowadays, all the liberal soccer moms and AWFULS are carrying the gay torch.
Years ago there was a player on the Toronto Bluejays who wore a helmet when playing in the field due to a condition he had that made it so he had to. Left handed first baseman’s name escapes me right now. Ossoff or something like that.
