This is my new favorite thing.

There are a ton of posts from foreigners who are in the U.S. for the World Cup and just discovered that America is awesome.

My only regret is that I can't show them ALL to you.

15 VIDEOS OF WORLD CUP FANS TRYING OUT AMERICAN FOODS FOR THE FIRST TIME...................

There's also the Jersey delis:

VIDEOS AT LINK!....................

And the Mexican joints:

And the grocery stores:

Of course, it isn't all about food.

Foreigners are experiencing FREEDOM™ for the first time in their lives and the rush is going to their heads! 🦅

(Especially this first kid.)

Of course, there are downsides to all this glorious liberty...

Obviously they have money.................

Apparently we just added 4,400 new millionaires today, so I'm thinking we're good for a week or so, at least.

I arrived in Warsaw, Poland two days ago. The food here is wonderful. But I don’t believe anything can beat a proper Texas brisket.

...there’s nothing wrong with The Cotton Bowl.

Except for getting broiled in a 105 degree heat index.

I watch those types of youtube videos. A lot of times the people will comment how they’ve been lied to by the media about what America is like.

I’ve been in NYC twice now this summer, which is a modern era record for me. Did a lot of walking. I found New Yorkers to be uniformly friendly and helpful. Of course, there was an element of reading the room involved: don’t interrupt someone who is obviously in a hurry or engrossed in a conversation, etc. A little self-deprecating humor goes a long way. While I mostly walked, I did end up using the subway about 10 p.m. to get back to Penn Station. Both times I was careful to ask for directions from my location to the nearest subway stop, which line to take, and about safety at that hour. Everyone was responsive and friendly, and the subway was fine.

Of course, I wasn’t in any sketchy parts of town, and I’ve lived in DC long enough to know to maintain situational awareness on the street.

The only problem I encountered was getting back to Penn Station the night Trump was at MSG for some basketball game. So many streets were closed down that getting to the only entrance involved a long walk-a-maze detour to get to the only entrance, and I was getting into catch the late train territory. That’s a crazy way to manage Penn Station, which is kinda, sorta important. Obviously the NBA game should have been moved to some more suitable location. Like Hoboken.

The thread the needle thing wasn’t hard because there were police directing pedestrian traffic at every corner. It was just a long walkabout, and I didn’t have a lot of time to spare.

The High Line walking park hadn’t been created when I lived in NYC almost 50 years ago. I ended up walking the whole thing as I arrived through Penn Station and was headed to lower Manhattan. Fantastic park, well worth checking out.

And the one lad’s expression when he takes that first bite of tender, falling-off-the-bone pork ribs . . .. !

I used to love that stuff. Now if I eat it, I have to take a long nap afterward, and the rest of the day I’m too lethargic to do anything.

I do too. The guy in the upper left is a youtuber who visits America and the guy in the lower right looks familiar too.
Most of the youtube European travelers react positively to American food so if soccer fans have seen them, I'm not surprised that they're doing social media food reactions.

BTW - having watched so many European videos, I hope these people have a good time then go home. They are uniformly socialists.

We have the best variety of foods here in the USA. And we don’t eat at Mcdo three times a day like some Europeans think.

One of my aunts is a LEGAL immigrant, now a citizen. She spent a lot of money and waited her turn to come many decades ago. She is angry that these people are literally jumping in line and not paying anything to get in to America. And getting free food and housing on top of that!...............

They can love America, but they should all go back home and stay there. America is full and needs to get rid of 50 million immigrants.

I agree, but the question is where to draw the line. I propose about 1830, as both sides of my family were here by then.

Most of Y’all, however can start packing your bags.

I wonder where Trump will go. His mom was an immigrant and both his paternal grandparents were German. Another newcomer overcrowding our country.

Oh for God’s sake do you think we’re savages out here?

Having lived, traveled and worked all over the country, I'd say the South has the reliably best manners and hospitality. Freepers still fighting the Civil War and lumping all Southerners in with the CW-and Jim Crow-era Democrats who oppressed the entire populace, both whites and blacks, have probably not visited lately and noted the overwhelmingly more pleasant atmosphere since Eisenhower, Reagan and Bush led the region out of Democrat control.

Note where people are moving to as they flee the blue states.—NC, SC, FL, TX leading.

“The South is the best place for Europeans to come to America for the first time.”

Absolutely. That also goes for Northern Americans.😉👍

Perfect! Drive on down and have a good look around, Northerners!

I’ve been mistaken for Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, Puerto Rican my whole life and I’m 71.............

I'm not talking about appearances, FRiend, but about the nation you are believed to stand for. ’Murrica is still a melting pot for people with the right mindset!

I'm glad you had a good experience there, especially since Biden hit NYC like a fist with “refugees.”

Your past experience and ability to sort it out in advance played a part. Whereas the people in those videos were driving across Southern states and stopping more randomly to get food. Kinda more chancy! Hence their great surprise at the friendliness and openness.
