Austin Metcalf was supposed to graduate this year. Instead, he is in a casket and has left a wave of heartbreak following his tragic murder at the hands of Karmelo Anthony.
Metcalf was posthumously honored during Memorial High School’s graduation ceremony in Frisco, Texas. His identical twin brother, Hunter, accepted the diploma on his behalf. Footage of the moment has since emerged.
A video shows Hunter Metcalf receiving his diploma on stage. Then he returned to the stage to get his brother’s as well. Once Austin Metcalf’s name was announced, the crowd delivered a rousing standing ovation that lasted 30 seconds.
“A few weeks ago, Austin Metcalf’s Twin Brother got to receive his Brother’s Diploma. Such a sad day,” a post on X read.
Austin Metcalf’s Killer Gets Convicted & Sentenced To Prison
The family of Austin Metcalf can breathe easily this week knowing his killer is gone for years. Metcalf was a junior at Memorial High School when he was fatally stabbed at a high school track meet in April 2025.
On Tuesday, Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of the 17-year-old. A Collin County jury delivered the guilty verdict, rejecting a self-defense claim and a “sudden passion” defense.

A few hours later, they handed down a 35-year prison sentence following approximately 3 hours of deliberation. Anthony and Metcalf, who did not know each other prior to the encounter, got into a verbal and physical altercation under a team tent.
During the confrontation, Anthony pulled a knife from his backpack and stabbed Metcalf. Austin Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, directly addressed his son’s killer, Karmelo Anthony, saying, “We were robbed!”
Following Anthony’s conviction and 35-year sentencing, Jeff Metcalf directed Anthony to look him in the eyes, calling him “despicable” and emphasizing that the tragedy was about “right and wrong.”

More proof that whitey is losing all fear of the “Race Cards”. They’ve been heavily overused. The don’t scare Americans like they used to.
Unfortunately “The Card” still terrifies politicians.
On June 9–10, 2026, a Collin County, Texas jury convicted the 19-year-old of murder in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas (April 2025). He was immediately sentenced to 35 years in prison and remanded to the custody of the Collin County Sheriff's Office.
He was booked into the Collin County Jail following sentencing (a new booking photo was released).
He has filed a notice of appeal (standard in such cases), but this does not affect his current custody status.
He has been in custody since shortly after the 2025 incident, with the recent conviction and sentencing formalizing his long-term imprisonment (parole eligibility after about 17.5 years).

Caramelo was sobbing after the verdict and his attorney asked for a few minutes alone with his client to help him compose himself and the judge responded that things were different for Caramelo now and the ‘cuffs were applied and he was escorted put of the courtroom.
