Glenn Beck is sounding the alarm over Democratic New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new housing proposal, warning that he's laying the groundwork for expanded government control over private property.
The new “Block by Block” housing plan includes taking aggressive legal action against landlords — and even transferring their properties to the tenants themselves.
“Through our new citywide campaign, Fix the City, we will focus on the worst landlords in New York City. When necessary, we will take aggressive legal action to remove negligent owners and property managers,” Mamdani said in a speech announcing his plan.

I want to see him try. He was running his trap yesterday about an apt building that has a beehive, for THAT he can take the landlord’s property, seriously, this is NOT Cuba OK, this is NOT Venezuela, if Mamdani wants to try it, I hope he’s wearing a bullet proof vest
Slum lords allowing their properties to fall into disrepair in the first place are why this move by Mamadani will get a lot of traction. If you are a renter with a bad landlord, you literally have no real recourse that doesn't cost a lot of money. And, if you had enough money to pursue a legal remedy, you wouldn't be renting in the first place.
Leftists have been pushing for crowded housing and a ban on single family houses everywhere. Like the early Communists taking over the house in Doctor Zhivago.

A friend of mine had a lucrative contract with a local housing project. The tenants would remove the hallway light fixtures, any copper pipes, etc. - and sell them.
My friend would be called in to make repairs. Then the cycle would repeat.
I will use my psychic powers to predict that the same thing will happen in NYC.
Of course if you write a nice check to Mamdani’s coffers, they might be willing to let you keep it.
Will it take 24 months? It is hard to look away from the impending wreck.
Sadly, many young Americans have never heard of Lenin or Stalin. They have no idea of what actual communism does to its people except for the top party elites.
This smells like South Africa. Dispossessing the white farmers. Giving the stolen lands to blacks (persons favored by the regime). No surprise when the new "owners" have no idea how to operate a productive farm on the properties. The properties fall into decay.

This isn't just "communism", this is literally a death sentence for people who live in such apartments.
What Mamdani is doing is making ANY excuse in the world for ANY tenant to take the landlord’s property. My Mom has a 5 unit building here in LA, I told her do whatever it takes to sell it as soon as possible before this insanity comes here
It will eventually lead to Government managing housing and deciding where everyone will live.
Of course it’s for “The Greater Good”.
Who in their right mind would invest private capital in NYC?
