JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A mother was arrested for D.U.I. after driving 120 miles per hour on I-10 with her three-year-old in the back seat, says the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
According to JSO, an officer pulled over the mother after seeing her drive 120 miles per hour on I-10. The officer enlisted the help of D.U.I. Officer Ernesto Valerio after he smelled marijuana in the car.
An investigation determined that the mother was driving under the influence and found a lit marijuana joint and several empty bottles of alcohol after searching the car. Her three-year-old was in the backseat.
In the body cam footage posted on JSO’s social media, Officer Valerio asks the mother, “You think that’s a safe way of driving with him?”
JSO says that the mother was supposedly driving fast so she could get to her 10-year-old son, who was left at home.
The mother was arrested for D.U.I. and violating Florida’s Super Speeder law, which makes it a crime to go more than 100 miles per hour.

Hitting 120 used to be a thing for teen males, I doubt that many today ever try it, or if their cars will even do it.

When I’m out driving, I often smell cannabis from other cars.
Certainly, there would be a safety concern there, with any impaired driver.
But I also wonder about resale value of cars. Smoking either cannabis or tobacco inside your car would, it seems to me, dramatically lower any future sale price. I don’t think you can get the smell out, but maybe people aren’t thinking super clearly about that.
This goes to show that if you are addicted to drugs and alcohol, you don’t care who you put in danger. Even you 3 year old child. You only care about the drugs and alcohol. I hope they give this woman a sentence that forces her to get help for her addiction or else there are only bad results on the horizon. She’s either going to hurt or kill the child or the child will be taken away from her.

I got a ticket in 1979 on I-95 doing 90 mph in St. Augustine. Had the trooper spotted me earlier, I had been doing 110+...........
Even if it was, a smoldering doobie when pulled over by the troopers for going 120 with a kid in the car ain’t gonna go well in front of a judge. 😏
Matt Blanc (Joey on Friends) was hilarious in the series Episodes on Hulu playing himself. In one episode he is pulled over for speeding after having a few drinks with his young sons in the car. The cops were overly nice to him because of his celebrity. At the booking Matt while signing autograph pictures says to the cops, my ex is going to be real mad if she hears about this. Could we pretend this didn’t happen? The cop replies, doing 90, blowing 1.5 with two kids in the car? No way Jose.
I hit 150 in a 5.0 mustang on a long straightaway of I-94. My dad had won the use of it for a month in a golf tournament. Scared the crap out of me.

My cars cruise control only goes to 90 MPH.......over that speed you actually need to put a boot to it.
Fastest I’ve ever driven on the ‘open road’ was 134 MPH in an Aston Martin DB 2/4 Mark 3.
