General Flynn sends open letter to President Trump [X post]

The regime in Iran is lying to you and your negotiators (period, stop!). Do not believe a word they say. I know you want to get out of this mess. All Americans want this unnecessary war to end. Keep in mind, as you have been told many times, Iran is still the leading state sponsor of terrorism (all anyone needs to say is Hezbollah, Hamas & Houthis, never mind IRGC-QF). None of these organizations are going away with this deal.

How about getting them to first publicly apologize for killing American Soldiers and U.S. Marines many times over (especially on this Memorial Day weekend). Yes, we are all sick of it.

And yes, the people of Iran must step up, but we need to signal to them, we will not concede their freedoms to the insane regime in Teheran. They deserve better. If we don’t, we will cause an entire population to be enslaved. For this, we have to smartly use our Middle East partners to support them along with our covert and clandestine operators. Trust me, if you support, this is very doable.

Anyway, I’m watching everything (like most of the world is) and admittedly I do not have all the information. But if we pay tribute to the regime to the tune of $25B, I’m concerned they’ll use it for nefarious purposes down the road.

No nukes in Iran may be a noble idea (an end goal for your administration) but the regime has blatantly lied to our faces before, why do you now believe they will tell you the truth?

Give it some thought. Get some out of the box solutions, and rethink your position. The art of the deal tells you to do that from time to time.

Iran has tried to murder a US President, and his family.

That's what happens when you kill Iran's supreme leader and several members of his family.

Put on your big-boy pants.

In other words: “I have no specific information, but I’m going to open my biggest, fat mouth anyway”.

”General Michael T. Flynn is a retired U.S. Army three-star general and former National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump. Known for his distinguished military intelligence career, he has more recently become a highly visible political figure, author, and speaker known for his involvement in conservative and religious movements.”

How did you serve in the military ?

I think President Trump is pretty well aware of this and Iran has tried to assassinate him and has plans to assassinate his children

What did President Trump think was going to happen after the opening strike in his war killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several members of his family?

Levelling Gaza created thousands of refugees. That’s manageable. Anyway, Gaza voted hamas in.
On the other hand, levelling Iran would create 90 MILLION refugees and a human disaster we haven’t seen since the end of WW 2. Unfathomable.

Just offer the Kurds a cut of the pie if they do the wet work that is needed. I’m sure they would make an excellent security team for the oil fields.

I think the way we keep things stable in the region is to leave some military assets in the region. If they step out of line, we respond quickly that gets them back in line. Make it to where they learn it’s not to their advantage to step out of line. Keep them down and make it very costly for them.

That sounds like a plan, except one of the weaknesses in it was exposed during the war, when Iran struck basically every military base we have in the Gulf (and then some). (It's the reason our ships had to beat feet out of the Gulf before the hostilities started.)

We can continue to disperse our servicemen and women in the general population as we did in response to the strikes against our bases, but this takes away one of the accusations that we make against Iran. (It's the Iranians who hide their military among the civilian population, not us.)

then I’d say that is irrefutable evidence that it isn’t necessary at all.

Well, it is if you live in Tel Aviv, Washington, or New York. If Iran successfully detonates a fusion bomb on only those 3 cities, it would make Hiroshima and Nagasaki look like the flu. Not to mention Tehran after Israel retaliates.

Iran does not currently have the capability to attack the American cities by missile, so the only question is whether they'd do ahead and attack Tel Aviv, or would they wait until they have the missiles and attack all 3 cities at the same time.

President Trump is trying to prevent this very real scenario.

“President Trump is using and manipulating these sham negotiations as cover to keep the blockade and sanctions in place...”

I’m wondering (hoping) if he’s using this time to arm and train the civilians.

FWIW, we heard all of this crap in 2003; Condoleeza Rice was using the term, "mushroom cloud" to present the supposed threat that Iraq made.

I'm sorry, but it is well-established that the government of TheGreatestCountryintheWorld™ will lie through its teeth to the American people; if you're trying to convince people to suck up the gas prices and hold fast, you're going to need a different line.

Considering most boot camps and infantry schools run a combined time of about 4-5 months, this should generate a fighting force just in time for the November elections here in the US.

If the Strait remains closed during this time, their efforts aren't going to matter.

LS, I know you’re a very knowledgeable guy, and if you wouldn’t mind posting your thoughts on the info offered at either or both of the links below, I think a lot of us would be very interested. Would also be very interested if you’d care to elaborate on point #1 in your post above. Thanks.

“We don’t have the manpower to go into a country with 93 million people, the size of Alaska, and ‘take control of all’.”

This was one of the reasons Truman fired MacArthur. MacArthur
insisted that they attack and conquer China. He pressed very hard with his usual arrogance. Truman answered that there was absolutely no way we had the manpower to administer such a huge country.

I’d like to think that preparation of the ground component you speak of has been going on since the beginning. However no real evidence of that just wishful thinking!

MacArthur didn’t want to occupy China, simply to get them out of Korea.

Right he figured, it would cause a chain effect that would result in the Communists losing power in China, without the need for the US to invade and occupy China.

“I don’t agree with calling it unnecessary;”

Yes, I noticed that. I don’t think that is the way to convince Trump to do anything by insulting his judgement first off.
