Who is that figure kicking around in Thune’s background? Is it Kristy Noem? Not sure...but’s it’s gonna be someone. All Bush-era RINOs have to be gone.
Many of us in the Lower 48 loved Sarah (still do!), but as I recall, quite a few Alaskans either did not want to vote for Sarah at that point, or were ambiguous - uncommitted.
The distracting problems from her two eldest children did not help.
Some Alaskans were still upset that she left her Governorship early. I understood it clearly. Sarah was an early target of what we now call ‘lawfare’ by the left.
It did not help matters when her former running mate ‘The Maverick’ never missed a chance to insult or diminish her in a public way. File under: “Things That Could Have Been”.

1. If Noem challenged Thune, she’d win.
2. She would then become an awful, and inconsequential, U.S. Senator. Beltway lobbyists would pass her around and take turns walking her around DC on a leash like a dog.
3. She would resign out of boredom or under the cloud of a financial scandal before she was halfway through her first term.
4. The governor of SD would name her replacement. There’s more than a 50% chance that it would be John Thune.

Murkowski rigged the vote by imposing rank choice voting. Basically Democrats elected her. Why Alaskan Republicans fell for this scheme is the real question.

Real women. Sadly, there are many that like beta-cucks and homos.
That's possible. But my guess is she realized long ago that she is (fairly or unfairly) seen as damaged goods and she's tired of her and her family constantly getting thrown under the bus and living under an electron microscope every time she shows her face in public or opens her mouth.
The problem in getting rid of her is RCV. It exists to tilt the playing field toward incumbents.
