A Florida woman’s DUI arrest is going viral online after deputies said they found her sitting beside a crashed Hyundai near Streamsong Golf Resort surrounded by dozens of miniature alcohol bottles.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on May 14 near the resort outside Bowling Green, Florida. When a deputy arrived, they found a red 2018 Hyundai sitting on a sidewalk with 34-year-old Erika Mayer of Palmetto seated nearby.
The situation became even stranger after a witness told deputies they had watched the Hyundai being driven across portions of the golf course before the vehicle eventually came to a stop. Deputies said Mayer appeared incoherent, had slurred speech, and struggled to maintain her balance during the investigation.
Deputies said Mayer denied consuming alcohol despite the odor of alcohol allegedly being present on her breath. A search of the vehicle uncovered an unopened 10-pack of 50-milliliter Fireball Cinnamon Whisky bottles, 21 opened mini bottles of Fireball, and two empty bottles of 99 Brand liqueur.
Deputies also said Mayer refused to participate in standardized field sobriety tests and declined to provide breath samples. Investigators noted she told deputies her refusal was based on advice she received from friends and social media.

Who knows, maybe soon he’ll be President of Cuba.
I thought this was going to be an article about how drinking a few Fireballs before you tee off helps improve your drive!
Whiskey bottles
Brand new cars
Golf course you’re in my way
“A sober person should do the same ... “field sobriety tests” are totally subjective frauds.”
100%. Actually more like 1000%.
Damn near all of the cops who administer those tests could never pass them, and they know it. But we’re supposed to do them perfectly, while under the stress and threat of being (possibly falsely) arrested.
But yeah, take the damn breathalyzer test if you don’t have anything to hide.
You get in trouble if you refuse the breath/urine/blood tests.
If asked to perform the circus animal or mentalist tricks, it’s best to refuse and ask for the breathalyzer.
You could blow 0.0 at the station but could still get the DUI if you stumble the other stuff, as many sober folks would.
Article: “declined to provide breath samples”
“Bad idea ... the machine might be broken, but at least it provides an objective measurement.”
In Florida, that is an automatic 12 month suspended license and second-degree criminal misdemeanor charge, which can mean up to 60 days in jail and fines.”
Laz will respond better if you ping him. :-)
So did I
But she seems a little unhappy. Maybe you can cheer her up.
Maybe buy her a drink?
“unopened 10-pack of 50-milliliter Fireball Cinnamon Whisky bottles”
The night’s still young!! Miles to go before I sleep.
People buying 99-cent Fireball mini bottles are getting absolutely destroyed on alcohol-per-dollar value compared to cheap vodka.
Example:
* Fireball mini:
* 50ml
* ~33% alcohol
* ~$0.99
That equals about:
16.5ml of pure alcohol.
Now compare that to a cheap 1.75L vodka handle:
* 1750ml
* 40% alcohol
* ~$10–15
That equals about:
700ml of pure alcohol.
So to equal ONE cheap vodka handle, you would need about:
42 Fireball minis.
At $0.99 each:
≈ $41.58
So cheap vodka gives roughly 4–5x more alcohol per dollar than Fireball mini bottles.
The minis are selling:
* convenience
* portability
* impulse buying
* sweetness
—not value.
The wings at Hooters are pretty good, too.
I like the beer, you know, the kind they keep in the cooler under the bar in front of you, make sure you ask for the bottles at the bottom even though it's tough on them to bend over and reach down.
It’s pretty hard to hide a fifth in your pocket.
Miniatures are made for stealth.
Fireball is my fav sipping whiskey. Sure it tastes like candy but I like it
> Maybe buy her a drink?
Couldn’t hurt. She likes the spicy stuff.
Obviously a comment by a veteran tippler.
Stealth has a high opportunity cost!
