GRAPEVINE, Texas — Grapevine police have arrested the driver of a Tesla Cybertruck who went into Grapevine Lake Monday night.
Police said just before 8 p.m. Monday, officers were called to Katie's Woods Park Boat Ramp, where a Tesla Cybertruck was in the water, near the shore.
According to a press release, the driver told officers he intentionally drove into the lake to use the vehicle's "Wade Mode" feature. The truck became disabled and started taking on water.
Everyone in the truck was able to get out safely before the Grapevine Fire Department Water Rescue Team helped get the truck out of the lake.
The driver, who was not identified by police, was arrested and charged with operation of a vehicle in a closed section of park/lake, no valid boat registration, and numerous water safety equipment violations. He remains jailed, according to police.

Hunter and moonshine last nite
A club in east Nashville with his two Brothers etc pals too from work
It goes country and western Tuesday nites
Right across street from crypt where jesse ashes rest
It’s like Sadie Hawkins where girls mostly coeds etc ask the guys to two step etc
Anyhow they go every week
I’m watching Rick Beato interview Densmore and Kreiger from the doors which I loved just fascinating
Anyhow doors blast open a cacophony of loudness and dogs jump up
Hunter is talking very loud holding onto the wall and fireplace mantle to get to the sofa
I look at Wade like WTH man
Wades like well they found some 70% apricot shine from the plateau some still up there
A million “I love you dads” later
Hunter is out on sofa clothes and boots still on
An hour later heaving in the sink
Mom gets up to help him
Anyhow quite a nite lol
He’s still on sofa nursing it
Thomas was driver didn’t drink
I admonished Wade with the command you’re 25 he’s 19 don’t let him get out of hand
You know how shy Hunter is by nature but he’s done well with girls there they like him
Quite a nite lol
Reminded me of me
Thomas leaves for Copenhagen Oslo Stockholm and Hamburg Thursday
Travel while u can
Last note
They are all currently building a spaceship for a funkadelic show
I made them listen to maggot brain
What a great instrumental and the player was a kid
Anyhow just sharing youlll see me soon
Given all this it’s still easier to raise the boys than girls especially if the girls are exceptionally pretty
But I'm glad he got home safe and learned something when the dehydration hit his brain. If he's not bootscootin' with a pro wrestling size belt buckle he's doing it wrong.
Parliament/Funkadelic still up and touring - cool. Tell Thomas to be careful while in those predominately Muslim countries. Maybe grow his beard out.
My classmate "Brother Paul" Brown plays keyboards for The Waterboys, who do old school rock/folk fusion style original music (since 1983). They're in New Zealand right now playing a show with...the re-formed Doors! They just did Europe and will finish up with UK dates. Massively talented and revered by other musicians, devoted following - just not for primitive headbangers like myself.
Good to hear ya'll are good. A few residents got COVID here and the staff still does the useless mask and fear crap. Guess they need to look pro-active for their masters LOL. I'm immune (thus far) so don't sweat it.
While they were chopping me up at Vanderbilt in 2023 all the docs and nurses around me suffered while I was protected by the lamb's blood on the doorway (I guess). God was cutting me a break when I needed one.
Funny how bad things make you appreciate the good ones so much more. Stay out of the lakes!
