Kane representative Zach McGinnis told TMZ that he died from complications related to a 2020 stroke.
Voice actor Tom Kane, known for his work with Cartoon Network and his long-running roles in the Star Wars franchise, died Monday at the age of 64.
Kane representative Zach McGinnis told TMZ that he died from complications related to a 2020 stroke.
"Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever," McGinnis said. "But beyond the incredible career was an extraordinary man. Tom was a devoted husband and father who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children — three biological and six welcomed through adoption and fostering."
Kane entered the Star Wars franchise through voice work in video games, beginning with 1998's Star Wars rebellion. He notably provided the voice of Yoda in Genndy Tartakovksy's animated "Star Wars: Clone Wars" series and later in the long-running "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." In that series, he also voiced the narrator.
He held several roles in iconic titles, such as "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic," "Star Wars: Republic Commando," "The Force Unleashed" series, The Old Republic MMORPG, and many other titles. Kane later provided additional voices in Episodes VII, VIII, and IX, as well as in "Solo," "Rogue One," and other titles, such as "Star Wars: Empire at War."
Outside of Star Wars, he provided the voice of Professor Utonium in the Power Puff Girls, Mr. Herriman in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and of Lord Monkey Fist in Kim Possible.

So not the movie versions, but the animated ones?
Some of both............
1) clot shot, or
2) knew too much on the Clintons, or
3) told Disney execs that the new Star Wars stuff is too woke and stupid, or
4) announced at Comicon that Yoda was just a stupid green muppet.
Any one of those can get you killed.
Question is a Toughie.................
2020? Was that Covid shot time?
Depends on what month......
Yet prolific mostly non-speaking role actor Tom Willett (Featureman on youtube) is still making you tube videos.
Which movies? I must’ve missed it.
I think you were right the first time.....I haven’t seen a Star Wars movie since the FIRST ONE in 1977. I thought it was terrible.............
You and I will have to differ on this, FRiend. I will spare you my point of view. (Yes, I saw the first one in 1977. It didn’t stop me at all.)
The rolling words going up the screen in the beginning turned me off.
The movie had bee hyped and hyped for several weeks and I finally decided to go see it.
The first thing I saw was :
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.......
Right then I knew it was going to be a Fairy Tale and that’s exactly what it was, Princess and all.
I managed to sit thru the whole movie and have never been to another one since. And I’m a big Science Fiction fan. I wasn’t overly impressed with any of the Star Trek movies, either. They were just big budget versions of the TV shows.
My favorite is the Dune movie of 1984. While it wasn’t 100% true to the novel, it was a lot closer than any of the subsequent movies ..............
John Williams’ music pulled me in.
I don’t like horror movies, they’re too real to me, but science fiction is fun fiction.
My boyfriend at the time was a big SF nerd. He eventually became a pastor.
Yes, it was a Fairy Tale. A fun fairy tale. Better than Rapunzel, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty.
I never read “Dune” or saw the movie.
Doubtful, unless he was in the health industry. The only people I know who got the clot shot in 2020 were doctors and nurses.
I remember watching an old time serial and saw the exact same rolling words or crawl and knew Lucas had seen this and copied it. Not all the serials had this crawl but at least one did. Lucas was saying Star Wars was an updated homage to the old time serials that youngsters from the 1930s to the 1950s went to each week at the local Bijou.
George Lucas has openly acknowledged that Star Wars was heavily influenced by Akira Kurosawa’s 1958 film The Hidden Fortress, particularly in its narrative structure of two lowly characters guiding the audience through larger events.
Additionally, many critics and fans, including Frank Herbert himself, argue that the franchise borrowed significant elements from Herbert’s 1965 novel Dune, such as the galactic setting, political struggles, and desert planet themes.
The Voice / The Force, Bene Gesserit / Jedi, member of a Nobel House fighting against the Emperor: Princess Leia / Paul Atreides...............................
Yes all true. There were many influences. Coppola and Spielberg were influences on Lucas as well. IIRC The Wizard of Oz was an influence mentioned by some when Star Wars first came out. Westerns, war movies etc etc.
