A twice-paroled transgender serial killer with a six-decade history of murdering women has been convicted yet again, this time for the savage 2022 beating death and dismemberment of 68-year-old Susan Leyden, whose headless torso was found stuffed in a shopping cart near his East New York apartment.
Harvey Marcelin, 87, who has also gone by “Marceline Harvey,” was found guilty by a Brooklyn Supreme Court jury last week of first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and concealment of a human corpse.
On February 27, 2022, surveillance video captured Leyden entering Marcelin’s apartment on Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York and never leaving alive.
Days later, on March 3, her headless torso was discovered inside a plastic bag in a wheeled shopping cart just blocks from the apartment.
Additional body parts, including her head, thighs, hand, arm, and one leg, were recovered from black garbage bags inside Marcelin’s unit, along with bloody sheets, cleaning supplies, a hammer, and an electric saw.
Investigators also recovered video showing Marcelin purchasing the saw and cleaning materials at a Home Depot around the time Leyden disappeared.
He was even caught on dollar-store surveillance driving a motorized scooter while sitting on one of the victim’s severed legs as he disposed of evidence.
Marcelin and Leyden had previously lived in the same Bronx homeless shelter in 2019, but the nature of their relationship at the time of the murder remains unclear.
The jury deliberated for less than one hour before delivering the verdict following a two-week trial.
This conviction marks Marcelin’s third murder of a woman in 63 years.
In 1963, the transgender lunatic was convicted of first-degree murder for fatally shooting his girlfriend, Jacqueline Bonds, in Manhattan. He was paroled in 1984.
One year later, in 1985, Marcelin stabbed his girlfriend, Ana-Laura Sierra, to death. Her body was found in a garbage bag.
He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was paroled again in 2019, just three years before killing Leyden while still under parole supervision.
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez issued a statement after the verdict, saying:
“This conviction holds the defendant accountable for the cruel and reprehensible murder of Susan Leyden. Following the senseless murder, the defendant desecrated the victim’s remains in a manner that truly shocks the conscience. I hope Ms. Leyden’s family finds a measure of solace in this guilty verdict, which ensures this defendant will never walk free again.”
Marcelin now faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 10.
This is why we need to restore the death penalty in every state in America. There are too many knuckledragging “parole ahos” that keep releasing murderers so they can kill again.
I think we need laws that hold the shrinks, doctors and judges/lawyers equally 100% responsible for what these people do. They are encouraging mentsl illness and letting it roam free and demanding society must support it, so they need to receive the same sentences when it eventually goes wrong. Let them all hang together if they wont do the right thing and get these messed up people proper mental health care to be ok with who they are, instead of just using them as pawns to promote destructive liberal socialist agendas on the rest of us.
That's just about time enough to read the charges and poll the jury. That part of the system worked just fine. The part about granting parole to a lunatic multiple murderer, not so much.

It is my guess that the recent DEI political environment is being used by this psychopath to get leverage with the parole board to effect his release.
I am not hopeful about any life sentence here. They will probably say the guy is so old that it’s “cruel” or something to lock him up.
This is just unbelievable! I keep thinking of that scripture where in end times, evil will be called good and good evil. Our society is so demented to have let this guy out after his first murder..
Lock him in solitary with a razor blade. Check back in a week. Bury whatever you find.
I believe the elderly are being targeted because they are easy targets. Yesterday not far from me a “transient” attacked a woman with a knife in a nice rural mobile home park. She was saved by an 85 year old man hearing her screaming. The perp went after him but he got away.
They are picking soft targets.
