President Trump arrived in China alongside a delegation of billionaire U.S. executives, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, underscoring the high stakes for American companies as Washington and Beijing negotiate over trade, artificial intelligence and the Iran war.

The executives — whose combined net worth approaches $1 trillion — lead companies with major business interests in China, despite years of trade disputes between the world's two largest economies…

Filmmaker Brett Ratner, who directed the documentary "Melania," was also on the flight.

Additional U.S. business leaders who are traveling to Beijing include Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, with a net worth of $47.5 billion, and Apple CEO Tim Cook, whose fortune stands at $2.9 billion.

Other executives expected to attend include Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, and Meta President and Vice Chair Dina Powell McCormick, according to The Associated Press.

Nvidia makes chips that are helping fuel the AI boom, and Huang and other executives view the trip as an opportunity to strengthen ties in the Chinese market.

So, what does CBS suggest that Trump should have done instead, bring a bunch of street bums with him? These are the guys who are going to bring good business partnerships back with them that will end up employing hundreds of thousands or millions of Americans in the years to come. Oh, and maybe the Chinese will hold off on invading Taiwan, given that they’re going to be treated as a partner rather than an enemy, with Taiwan in it’s present state being a benefit to all sides.

Yes, China will also benefit - why would they agree to anything if they didn’t? That’s the nature of trade, isn’t it?

Just because it’s CBS does not mean the article isn’t purely observational/objective in this case.

CBS is a CORPORATION. It is not anti-billionaire, it is a for-profit engine for billionaires like David Ellison.

What?? The “Kill the Billionaires, You Didn’t Earn It” crowd wasn’t invited? No AOC or Bernie! What was Trump thinking?

They are. Quick search on “Detroit 1950 vs. 2015 pictures” (or any range like that) turns up splendid vs. post-apocalyptic comparisons.

It doesn’t matter who Trump brings to China at this time.
Our business people will continue use Chinese producers until we eventually go to war with them.(That’s a ways out.)

We’ll go to war with them eventually to find out who is #1 in military , economics, Asia, & the Pacific region.

This is strategic market penetration.

History suggests that when the USA penetrates the Chinese market, it results in coitus interruptus.

When China penetrates America, we get it good and hard.

Trump is trying to awe and dazzle Xi with all the wealth we have here. And that our top corporations are run via top talents. I am sure that China’s top corporations are plagued by embedded CCP/PLA hacks and CCP/PLA nepo babies at the top, running them. Xi gets pissed off daily by this.
