Brandon Clarke, forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, has died. He was 29 years old.

It is unknown exactly when, how or where Clarke died.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke.
Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten. We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time," the team shared in a statement on its official X account on Tuesday.

Drugs, suicide, accidents. I think NC lost one athlete a year during football season when my son(now 30) was playing HS football, usually heat or heart-related.

Brandon was at Gonzaga for two years: first as a redshirt which included the Oylnyk Clinic, followed by a stellar year when the Zags went to the Elite Eight. The “Olynyk Clinic is named after Kelly Olynyk, who took a redshirt year to train his body to fit his 7 foot frame from what it was a few years before (6’4”). The following year, he was a First Team All American, currently a 13 year veteran in the NBA.
