For almost the entirety of the half century I have lived on Earth, I have had experts, teachers, politicians and activists hectoring me about how climate change is going to destroy the planet. But this week, in The New York Times, of all places, is evidence that climate alarmism is finally cooling down.
"Democrats Do Not Have To Campaign On Climate Change Anymore," blared the headline, this week, as author Matt Huber argues that voters are rather turned off by the subject. I would like to suggest that this is because it is the single most expensive lie in human history.
In elementary school, I endured warnings of a coming ice age, then by high school it was global warming that was minutes away from ending humanity. By the time I was an adult, the warming having failed, surprisingly, to occur, we settled on "climate change," as the vague name for the inevitable apocalypse.
In 2018, as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was coming into prominence, she told us that we had a mere 12 years to fix the climate problem or we would all die. In that time, untold trillions of dollars have been spent by the government, along with basically every business in the country, to hold the weather at bay, even though every prediction the alarmists have made has fallen flat.
Miami, my friends, is not underwater.
It's not just the expense of climate alarmism, it's what it has kept us from doing, as well. How much would a gallon of gas cost today had we been drilling for oil instead of pretending the "emergency" meant we all had to switch to electric cars by next Tuesday?

We did what I long said we needed to do thanks largely to President Trump. We didn’t completely escape the damage done from economic sabotage by Gaia Worshipers but we managed to slow it down enough that everybody could see examples of other countries that went for full blown Gaia Worship - namely, Germany and the UK. They are dying. People can’t afford to pay their bills, lots of small businesses were forced to close, and even Germany which had managed to preserve its chemicals industry and manufacturing base is rapidly deindustrializing. Both countries are in serious decline with no end in sight.
The American public sees this and support for Gaia Worship has therefore declined rapidly. Its not just warm and fuzzy sounding stuff, its economic suicide. Everybody knows it now.
If it weren’t for lies the left would have nothing to say.
“I would like to suggest that this is because it is the single most expensive lie in human history.”
Communism.
islam.
It's not like the Democrats ever admitted they were wrong,
only that they dropped it from this year's talking points.
If Democrats get back in, it will stop being "over" once again.
Uh, no. "COVID" proved just how stupid most Americans (and the rest of the world) are, and it is a level of stupid, ignorant, and fearful that is hard to imagine.
the author forgot to mention acid rain which was in the middle of that long list of climate panics.
Acid rain was a real thing. In that the Sulfur put out primarily by coal burning power plants in KY, WV, OH, PA, was having an effect on the lakes in the Adirondacks downwind.
They added scrubbers to those power plants and the sulfur output decreased. The lakes PH eventually returned to normal and the fish came back. The LIE(back in the 1970s/1980s) was that they would be DEAD forever.
This was similar to when I had a pool at my previous house.
When we got big thunder storms in the summer and you would get a downpour of rain it might add an inch or even two of water to the pool in a day. That rain washed all the crap out of the air and into my pool screwing up the PH because of the acidic content increase. So, down to the pool store I would go to buy a box of PH adjuster. It happened every summer a couple times.
The socialist bartender is on the ketamine. Could explain a few things.
She’s separating mind from body ,LOL
“Acid rain was a real thing.”
Yes. The lie is in exaggerating the effects. They told us it would get so bad that the rain would dissolve the clothes off our backs.
