A fireworks explosion inside a $1.3 million home in south Los Angeles forced police to call in a bomb squad to clean up the area Saturday as fire officials battled an ensuing blaze with fireworks still exploding.
Officials told The California Post that one person was found dead at the Jefferson Park home, and two others were injured.
Video from the scene showed an energetic blaze with colorful fireworks dangerously going off. They appeared to be mortar-style fireworks. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 5:52 a.m.
Cadaver dogs were called for a possible missing person at one point, LAFD said.
Police said a “large quantity” of fireworks was recovered at the home. Arson investigators and the LAPD are investigating the cause of the fire and the “possible criminality” of the incident.
The fire started in the detached garage of the home in the 2400 block of 9th Avenue in Jefferson Park.
A 30-year-old woman was found at the scene with unknown injuries, fire officials initially reported.

I heard of an incident where someone was storing fireworks in their kitchen oven. The results were predictable.
I wonder if this was a similar situation.
Drunk illegal aliens farting around with fireworks and mortars brought in from Mexico and they finally blew themselves up.
Wouldn’t be the first time. It happens in Oregon.
Native Oregonians are getting sick and tired of listening to their explosions.
They certainly do seem to like loud noises.

I live in an area of Eastern Washington that is now 80% Hispanic and if there’s any reason to light of fireworks, they will. The 4th around here looks like the opening night attack on Baghdad. It doesn’t help were less than 20 miles from the fireworks stands on the reservation.
Another year, another Fireworks “blown up real good” in Los Angeles. Always goes down. Only one dead and one house destroyed. “Pikers”

What really pisses us off is when the get drunk on Christmas Eve and start throwing out bombs……so much for “Silent Night, Holy Night.”
