AI is accelerating the collapse of the country. Total resource hog. Elimination of jobs staffed by individuals. At the moment, GIGO.
Huge boondoggle for those building AI centers (unions!). Increase in personal information collection. Massive spike in RAM and SSD prices for computers and laptops.

I’m sure that will make up for the 24/7/365 low frequency hum and vibration that you’ll mostly just notice at night.

According to a video posted on LinkedIn by Span CEO Arch Rao, each node contains Dell PowerEdge servers with 16 Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs, 4 AMD EPYC CPUs and 3 TB of RAM, connected to a 24-port gigabit switch.Still rough - but I'm going with brilliant...

Such obvious bullshit. Everyone opposes them because they are exploding electrical build by a factor or 3X to 5x. So we suddenly get articles about how data centers are going to lower bills.
You’d have to be an idiot to fall for this.

I LIVE RURAL IN N NEVADA
WE HAVE GONE FROM A REQUEST FOR ONE BUILDING WITH 30 EMPLOYEES TO 7 LARGE “COMPLEXES” WITH OVER 2,000 EMPLOYEES.
WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH LOCAL WATER TO ACCEPT THIS.
WE ALL LIVE ON PRIVATE WELLS.

I believe that we (homes) are a system of paying for demand (used) electricity, not potential maximum electricity available. So my power bill would go up with additional usage of the Data Base, so who would pay? The article did not mention.
The next issue is transformers are size by the projected flow with a cool down time (normally night time) to cool off. Maximum transformer usage would burn out transformers. So who pays for that?
