The Dangerous Endgame of 'He Must Be Stopped'
American Thinker ^ | 4 May, 2026 | Brian C. Joondep

Investigate him. Impeach him. Indict him. Demonize him. When none of it works — what comes next?

For nearly a decade, Donald Trump has been the most investigated, scrutinized, and politically targeted figure in modern American history.

That’s not hyperbole. It’s his résumé.

From the moment he descended the escalator in June 2015, the full apparatus of opposition snapped into place. Not routine political disagreement or opposition research, but something far more sustained: intelligence leaks, media narratives, fabricated dossiers, bureaucratic resistance, and cultural condemnation, all rowing in the same direction.

The premise was simple.

Something would stick.

Anything would stick.

Nothing did.

Rewind the tape. Russian collusion. Endless demands for tax returns. Two impeachments. Jan. 6 recast as an insurrection. A steady drip of allegations — some serious, some sensational, some quietly abandoned when they didn’t pan out. Each introduced with breathless urgency and a familiar promise:

This is the one. We have him now.

Think of Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner.

Wile E. Coyote fell off the cliff and the Roadrunner scooted away.

Naturally, the strategy evolved.

When narrative failed, prosecution followed. Enter “lawfare” — the weaponization of the legal process as a political strategy. Indictments multiplied. Novel legal theories emerged. Statutes of limitations changed. The net widened — not just around Trump, but around his associates, attorneys, aides, and, if possible, anyone who ever shook his hand or voted for him.

I call it pure ole-fashioned hate. And these people hate Trump so much that they'd rather have an American city nuked rather than for Trump to have a major success. It's truly sick.

The Democrats and the media have hated every Republican President in the last 60 years—Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, and Trump. (Ford and Bush I less passionately maybe.)

The irony is that some of these guys that the liberals hated so passionately weren't so different from Democrats when it came to actual policy. Nixon was pretty much on the same page as JFK on the issues (and furthermore, he didn't have much interest in rolling back the Great Society), while the Bushes weren't all that different in policy matters from Bill Clinton. What that says is that party loyalty trumps actual issues.

What I fear is that this TDSwill persist after Trump leaves office and be directed at anyone who supported him. Already we have had Democrats talk of a vendetta. If Democrats gain control, I could see a push for “ reeducation” camps, bans on free speech and outright persecution of MAGA supporters.

I read Levin’s book The Liberty Amendments ‘ . It is what convinced me that a Convention Of States was a good idea. One of the arguments I hear against having a COS is that there are not anyone worthy of sending to such a meeting.

A silly argument for nation with 340 million people in it!

After looking into your web page in some detail I'm convinced you would be a good choice to represent your state . Lots of great stuff there . I intend to go back to again whenever I get bored and want something valuable to read!

Already happened. The J6 Patriots railroaded into the DC Gulag for opposition to the Biden Junta are proof of that. The most frustrating things is the POS judges who sent them there are still fat dumb and happy in their lifetime seats. Congress should dissolve the DC Circuit and let Trump pick their replacements for a remade DC Circuit!

Yes. Reagan and the Bushes were SatanHitler and treated almost as badly as Trump. The difference is that Bushes were (wink wink) conservatives (actually warmonger leftists) so the RATs were able to tolerate them slightly.
