A Florida doctor accused of fatally removing the wrong organ from a patient was recently arrested while working a shift for Lyft — much to the horror of his vacationing passengers.
Thomas Shaknovksy, 44, was cuffed April 13 in Miramar Beach, Fla., on charges of second-degree manslaughter while carting around two customers in his silver Mitsubishi.
An officer with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office hauled Shaknovksy out of his car and handcuffed him while pressing the suspect against the back driver’s side window, where one of his stunned passengers was sitting, according to police body-camera footage obtained by NBC News. Once Shaknovksy was in the patrol car, the officers pivoted and guided his two passengers to the side.

That seems reckless on the part of the officers if there were innocent passengers in the back of the Lyft. Just pull the Lyft over and tell the guy to get out. No need to rush the car with guns out and trigger the guy to do something rash.

Yes, why did they arrest him then?
The doctor removed s 4.6 pound liver instead of a 1/2 pound spleen?
It also said the AL man asked to return to AL but the doctor insisted he needed his spleen taken out now.
What a screwup and tragedy.
Without my readers I thought it said Dog.
To be fair, they all look sort of pink and gooey in there...
What a strange story. No doctor removes a liver because of any disease. There is no way to live without a liver and that is why they call it a liver. It’s pretty prominent and is almost always in the same place in every person. If anyone removed a liver for therapeutic reasons, that person is not a doctor and whoever allowed the patient to be worked on by this person should be held liable.
Apparently he thought he was removing the spleen. How he could make that mistake, I don’t know.
He lyfted the wrong organ.
The dog would have had more of an excuse.
Remember, 50% of medical school graduate at the bottom half of their class. Add to that the arrogance of some doctors, and it’s a wonder such things don’t happen more often.
So did I. I was trying to make sense of it, at face value:
” Well, it must have been a very tall, long legged Dog to even see over the operating table. Probably a German Shephard or Malinois, they’re known to be smart. Wearing a Mask, of course. But where did he go to medical school? That’s the real question!”
Grenada?
“My master ate my medical book”
You never know!
But remember, every once in a while you will see an article about someone who fakes being a doctor, sometimes a surgeon. How do they do it?
I know. Somebody’s not checking references.
Dr. Death.
