PINEVILLE, La. - Police are investigating a Louisiana restaurant after officers discovered a deer believed to be roadkill stored in a freezer alongside food items intended for customers, authorities said.
Dig deeper:
The Pineville Police Department said the investigation began after officers learned of a viral social media post showing individuals skinning an animal behind a local restaurant.
On April 21, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Cottingham Expressway after receiving a report that a restaurant employee had been seen skinning a dead animal.
When they arrived, officers found evidence suggesting the animal was a deer, which was believed to have been collected after being found dead along the roadside.
During the investigation, officers discovered the deer carcass stored in a freezer alongside other food items reportedly intended for customers at the restaurant.
What they're saying:
According to KALB, the incident happened at China Queen and the restaurant posted this note to its door.
"We apologize for the recent incident. The item involved was never intended to be served to customers, but it was improperly stored. It has been fully cleaned and sanitized. We are cooperating with health authorities and have corrected our procedures to ensure this does not happen again. Thank you for your understanding."

Have you tried the Panda Inn restaurant? It’s like the mother ship to Panda Express. There’s one near Valley View and Orangethorpe. The walnut shrimp is just the best. 👍

If the main entree on the menu in your favorite restaurant always starts with “Delicious mile marker __”; you might be a Redneck.
” I have seen many exotic items on menus, I have never seen venison.”
Once , many years ago when in Nikko , Japan , I was served deer sashimi at the hotel I was staying at . It was Ok but nothing to write home about . I had grilled horse meat a few nights ago here in Kumamoto , Japan where horse meat is very popular .
Looked up the restaurant and got their lunch menu. They have twice cooked pork. Did the dam thing wake up and make a run for it after they started?

Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein”. China Queen restaurant? I figured it would Lee Ho Fook.
Stubborn here...I like my local well established chinese takeout place. Moo Goo Gai Pan, chicken fried rice egg roll and the best chicken wings in town...at least I think they are chicken...if not, they are still the best in town!
Two issues with the commercial...the stereotype of “ancient chinese secret” and the man bashing where the wife embarrasses the man making fun him being a “hotshot” .
Actually I’m not offended at all but modern pearly handbag clutcher Karens and GenZ sensitives will have heart spasms and collapse with the vapors!

I agree. Nothing wrong with eating roadkill. You see a deer get hit, killed, and leave all that free meat laying there for buzzards and possums?
And another thing is, it is much healthier that grocery store meat.
I’ve eaten at the Panda Inn a few times, and it serves great food.
When we were traveling through Sweden, we stopped for dinner at restaurant that had an English-language menu. The day’s special was something called “forcemeat.” After interrogating the waiter, we found out that “forcemeat” is a mixture of lean ground meat and fat and not a misspelling of “horse meat.”
