Wife and I will be in Seattle in June for an Alaskan cruise. We've got an AirBnB reserved in the 400 block of Vine Street. Any concerns with the location as we'll be flying in around 7:00 a.m. and will need to kill some time before we can get in around 3:00. Plan is to take an Uber from the airport to a Bounce luggage storage area a couple minutes from the AirBnB.
What's good to eat around there for all three meals?
Is the area we're staying in "safe," or would you avoid?
An touristy things in walking distance? Space Needle? Fish Market?
Is there light rail near that location? Advise for/against using it to get to Pier 91? Probably have 3-4 pieces of luggage since its a long cruise.
Looks like a Walgreens in the area, any food stores? Thinking about buying our toiletries in Seattle vs hauling.
The World Cup will be in Seattle during our two stays in Seattle, June 10th and again on June 23rd.
What else should we be thinking of? Any insights are appreciated. Thank you.
My wife and I lived there from 1997-2000. The one thought to keep in mind is only crazy people ride the bus. Also they swarm the tourist parts of the city.
Good luck and enjoy your trip
I haven’t been to Seattle in decades, but this might help:

there are some official maps here, but they may not list things that we might consider crimes (can’t trust Communist statistics)

Island ferry, Pikes market.
As mentioned before, don't ride the buses esp. at night or the new rail system - sad.
Pike’s Place Market is probably okay since there are a lot of people around, but I wouldn’t wander too far off the beaten path.
What days of week will you be there...pikes place market
is packed on weekends. Lots of places around there.
Daughter lives there been there many times no problem Alaskan way in daytime Ivers ferries Ballard locks lots of neat things to do nighttime can be crazy stay away from from homeless china town lots of dope democrats etc
You will be less than 2 miles north of the Stadium.
My understanding is that Hotel rooms are going for 2X-3X usual price, especially if you are within walking distance.
Iran was scheduled for one game, dropped out, then agreed to play again. Hard to predict what attendance will be like.
We fly in on a Wednesday and fly out on a Wednesday. We’re staying overnight in the same AirBnB coming and going and want to check out a couple things in Seattle. Looks like the Space Needle is only a half mile walk.

But the Pike Place Public Market is the biggie. And it’s close to where you are.
Everything spiked after I booked our cruise. Someone mentioned the WC so I got online & booked an AirBnB right away. Still higher than the hosts normal rate. $150 a night hotels are going for $400-500 a night!!
On the northside is how I understand it.
Watch out for the flying fish at the Pikes Place Market being flung by the workers!!
🤣
Get lunch up in the space needle. There are tons of downtown restaurants. I would always eat at a Turkish place that I can’t recall. There are interesting art galleries and shops all over. Avoid the allies as they will be covered with human waste and toilet paper. If it is sunny there will be lots of bums hanging out in the parks half naked. The only problem I ever had where I didn’t feel safe was when a group of ‘teens’ followed me to the airport elevator to the train station. If you’re in reasonable shape and not concerned the train will save a ton of money over a taxi or uber. Last time I went it was $120 for an uber to downtown. The early hours you’ll be using public downtown transportation shouldn’t be too filled with crazies.
Inner passage cruise?
I can’t offer any help on sights - we just had a (great) dinner the night before and didn’t do much else before embarking the next morning.
But - enjoy the trip. We loved it. Wife and I love cruising, but we always argue about how to do port calls - she likes the excursions; I usually prefer to wander/do it myself.
In our case - I’d have to look to see who we sailed with - but I really enjoyed (a rarity!) the “excursions”.
Just gorgeous country. I’m usually a “one and done” for a cruise - but I’d gladly do an Alaskan inner passage cruise again.
Enjoy!
If your state of residence has reciprocity for concealed carry I would highly recommened you stay armed at all times.
If you’re into rock and roll history the EMP (They call it something different now) used to be a good visit and it’s right at the base of the Space Needle.
I couldn’t even begin to tell you about food as it’s been a couple of decades since I’ve been downtown there.
