Eric Swalwell paid illegal Brazilian live-in nanny under the table with campaign funds, complaint alleges

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell has been accused of violating immigration and employment law to keep his illegal live-in Brazilian nanny in the country, according to a pair of recently filed complaints.

When his South American babysitter’s temporary work authorization was about to expire in 2022, he and wife Brittany Swalwell lied to the feds to keep Amanda Barbosa working for them, a new complaint filed Tuesday with the Department of Labor claimed.

Another complaint, filed to the Department of Homeland security in February and previously unreported, accuses Swalwell of paying the nanny under the table with campaign funds for a period of two years when she didn’t hold valid work authorization.

“Barbosa appears in numerous social media photos with the Swalwell family throughout 2023 and 2024, indicating continued close association and ongoing childcare responsibilities despite the absence of known lawful work authorization,” the complaint to DHS, dated Feb. 16, alleged.

The embattled California gubernatorial hopeful first hired Barbosa, 33, in the fall of 2021 to look after his three children.

Barbosa had come to the US from Rio de Janeiro in January 2021 on an au pair visa. She was paid $3,914 in campaign funds that year, according to an analysis of Federal Election Commission data by The Post.

She continued working for the Golden State politician as a live-in nanny the next year, receiving $46,930 in campaign funds in 2022, FEC records show.

Eric Swalwell paid his illegal Brazilian live-in nanny under the table with campaign funds...

Haven't we all known dozens of guys who did that, too?

We all know if this clown was leading the gubernatorial race in California comfortably none of this would be happening. Swalwell is no longer useful for the Democrats.

I keep telling clueless Dems I know in California it’s their own party giving this doofus his walking papers out of politics.

Swalwell to Tom Homan: “Get your ICE guys out here and lock that nanny up and deport her-—now. Why don’t you do something? She is illegally here.”

Homan: “I have a couple of in depth Fox News appearance interviews coming up but I’ll get to that case-—in a few months.”

a new complaint filed Tuesday with the Department of Labor

Who filed it and why just Swalwell? He can't be the only one who has used campaign funds for nannies much less the other stuff he's getting hit with now. If he's so tough, let's see him go scorched earth and start a Dem civil war. He has to know stuff about others.

Yet, it is the Commies who are taking him down. They knew all about this and had this all safely tucked away for when they wanted to use it against him... so why NOW?

They all THREE (Shartwell, Mrs Shartwell and Nanny Shartwell) look like slimy lowlife grifters.

Remember Kamala’s ex got the nanny pregnant? Now another nanny.

A woman my wife and I knew was having a rancorous divorce proceeding and her lawyer told her the husband was almost undoubtedly having sex with their young child’s nanny. She broke down and cried (and said “And I gave her generous tip money because I liked her work”) but then later in the case he was proven to have been doing it.

Seems to be a classic infidelity power play for adulterous males.
Political writer and radio host Michael Medved: “I admit it we men are vicious jungle animals and can’t admit it to ourselves.”

...despite the absence of known lawful work authorization...

No one mentioned the nannies and or maids they wanted to keep paying lower wages to.

It never was about picking fruits and vegetable. They guilt tripped an entire nation with many believing the lies. They used farmers as if they care about them.

I am tickled that the charade is over. lol

“And I gave her generous tip money because I liked her work”

Sounds like he also gave the nanny a generous tip.

In the wake of the sexual assault allegations, which Swalwell has so far denied, online betting odds shifted toward billionaire progressive Tom Steyer winning California’s governor’s race.

Uh, oh. A gazillionare is involved.

The Dems want to reduce the number of candidates for the California primary, that’s why now. My question`is, why only one candidate? There are many, and getting one guy out of the way doesn’t seem like enough. Unless it’s a warning to the others with dirt; get out now or be prepared.
