A 22-year-old woman and her unborn baby were shot to death in a restaurant parking lot in Kentucky after she honked her horn at a man.
Ava Woodcock died at University of Louisville Hospital on Tuesday after she was critically injured during a shooting the day before, which killed her unborn baby, according to the Glasgow Police Department, cited by Fox 10.
Brandon Bond, 24, was arrested for allegedly shooting the pregnant woman. He was charged with murder, first-degree fetal homicide, and first-degree fleeing or evading police.
Woodcock, who was the mother of a one-year-old, pulled into Annie's Restaurant parking lot and honked her horn while Bond was across the street, according to WBKO reporter Brennan Crain.
Bond opened fire, striking Woodcock, who was in the driver's seat. The ordeal sent her car rolling before it eventually crashed.
The alleged killer took off into a wooded area behind a nearby recycling company before being apprehended.
Officials said Bond had been drinking alcohol and was not cooperative while being booked into the Barren County Jail.
He was arraigned on Wednesday, where his bond was set at $2million, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 16.
Woodcock was initially brought to T.J. Samson Community Hospital before being airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital, according to WNKY.
A GoFundMe was set up in an effort to support her family during such a heartbreaking tragedy.
'This fundraiser has been created to support the Woodcock family as they walk through this tragedy,' reads the fundraiser.
'Donations will help cover funeral expenses for both their beloved daughter and her baby, as well as urgent and ongoing needs—including care and support for her young daughter.'

She was across the street from him. She honked, and he opened fire. Nutz to that. He was on the prowl to kill somebody. Anybody would have done. I swear if he is not found beat to death in his cell, Kentucky is lost.
This is KY, but same question applies.
“Shooting the woodcock”

“The headline doesn’t match the story. “
The headline is accurate. Maybe that writer read other articles?
Rope and a tree quickly.
Glasgow KY, population is 15,573, that still too big for you?
According to other articles, the charge is “murder-domestic violence”, so the honking may not be the cause here.
I live miles away from a 1800 population town and I don’t like to go there.
Did he admit it?
If so, he is nuts and should be let off.
This is the new ‘legal’ approach.
Luckily this did not happen in North Carolina.
I never used to honk when someone just sat at a red light. Now, I give them a decent grace period and then a honk. At this point, I assume the person is checking his phone for something.
Not that I have EVER done the same ....
I will honk at the unaware if I am at least three cars back.

Hi Pontiac!!! How goes all in NE OH-IO?
I miss the people and venues, but certainly not the weather!
“…and cause people to react negatively to the sound regardless of how the horn button is pressed…”
The horn in my 02 f350 super duty can be as loud or low as I want. It reminds me of the horn buttons in the police crown vics which could be volume controlled. They’d rout the siren to it and vary the sound and volume depending on how hard they pressed. I use it very softly all the time.
