A’ja Wilson’s close friend Michael McManus, widely known on social media as Deloris, reacted following the NCAA women’s Final Four matchup between the UConn Huskies and South Carolina Gamecocks on Friday, which concluded with Geno Auriemma involved in a heated confrontation with Dawn Staley, Wilson’s former coach.
Auriemma, who coached the defending champion UConn in its 62-48 defeat to Staley’s South Carolina, approached the Gamecocks bench in the closing moments, leading to a In a post on X, Deloris labeled Auriemma “classless” and issued a strong accusation:
“Geno is a classless piece s**t who has built his legacy on sabotaging black head coaches. F**K HIM.”
After the game, Staley was asked about the incident with Auriemma and instead directed the question toward the nine-time AP Coach of the Year and eight-time Naismith Coach of the Year.
“You can ask Geno the question,” Staley said. “He’s the one that intiated the conversation. I don’t what happened there to dampen what we were able to accomplish today.”
Ta’Niya Latson led South Carolina with 16 points, while Agot Makeer added 14 off the bench, supported by Joyce Edwards with 11 and Tessa Johnson with 10 in the win.
For UConn, projected 2026 WNBA draft top pick Azzi Fudd struggled, finishing with just eight points on 3-of-15 shooting. Only Sarah Strong (12 points on 4-of-16 shooting) and Ashlynn Shade (10 points on 5-of-11 shooting) reached double figures.
Dawn Staley Says She Has No Idea What Triggered Geno Auriemma’s Outburst After the game, ESPN’s Holly Rowe asked Dawn Staley what led to the late-game incident, and the Gamecocks coach said she was unsure.
“I’m of integrity,” she said. “So if I did something to wrong to Geno, I have no idea what I did. I guess he thought I didn’t shake his hand at the beginning of the game. I didn’t know.
“I went down there pre-game and shook everybody on his staff’s hand. I don’t know where he came with after the game.”
During the broadcast, Auriemma criticized the officiating, pointing to a stretch where UConn was called for six fouls while the Gamecocks were assessed only one in the same quarter. He also noted that, aside from struggling offensively, his players were dealing with physical defense.
She has no class, Genoa was right
Yup, comments like that is really keeping it classy.
Wilson is a foul-mouthed bigot like her friend Dawn Staley.
4 NBA chips and an Olympics gold medal join the chat. But may you’re a Cavs, LeBron, or Celtics fan. All you proved is you don’t know hoops.
I tried watching this game. It’s was a lot of bad basketball. A lot of the same reasons why I can’t watch the WNBA.
Geno should say that the legacy is built on beating the opponent regardless of skin color, and only losers make excuses.
Oh and as for A’Racist BFF Deloris
Also A’ja

Also, Deloris was ousted from a middle school for punching a student.
But go ahead and obsess weirdly over Steve Kerr
All I know is the folks at Jordan Furniture are doing cartwheels. They are off the hook for $50m in refunds!
What does being a Celtics fan have to do with it? They are usually understood to be the most knowledgeable fans in the sport.
(Unless you beat them. Then you suck.). /joking
This was a good publicity stunt. They paid $300,000 of insurance, and that money goes into the insurer so the next big shot prize indemnity insurance payout will be paid. Sony may use the same insurer for Wheel of Fortune.
That was sarcasm. Sports aren’t communist.
I realize that. But communists are control freaks. Controlling sports (everyone gets a trophy, trans in sports, etc.) is part of the plan. Sports has been made so ‘important’ that people are getting more and more violent when their team doesn’t win. Downtowns getting pillaged and burned.
And look at the woke NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, etc.
Its about total control by leftists.
No, golf is the exception in the sports world. You have to play your way on to The Tour and you have to maintain your level of performance or you will be out soon enough.
For every Jack Nicklaus or Phil Mickelson there are several dozen guys just struggling to keep their playing privileges. And a scorecard is not racist.
“A’ja Wilson’s close friend Michael McManus, widely known on social media as Deloris”. Delores, tell Dawn not meeting Lisa Bluder to shake hands before the Iowa/SC national championship game is the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever seen a coach do. A long way from the class of John Robert Wooden.
Let me boil this down: SC’s butch players played rougher than UConn’s butch players, causing the angry Italian guy to go after the angry black female coach.
Especially one whose boyfriend won the Super Bowl.
