A’ja Wilson’s close friend Michael McManus, widely known on social media as Deloris, reacted following the NCAA women’s Final Four matchup between the UConn Huskies and South Carolina Gamecocks on Friday, which concluded with Geno Auriemma involved in a heated confrontation with Dawn Staley, Wilson’s former coach.
Auriemma, who coached the defending champion UConn in its 62-48 defeat to Staley’s South Carolina, approached the Gamecocks bench in the closing moments, leading to a In a post on X, Deloris labeled Auriemma “classless” and issued a strong accusation:
“Geno is a classless piece s**t who has built his legacy on sabotaging black head coaches. F**K HIM.”
After the game, Staley was asked about the incident with Auriemma and instead directed the question toward the nine-time AP Coach of the Year and eight-time Naismith Coach of the Year.
“You can ask Geno the question,” Staley said. “He’s the one that intiated the conversation. I don’t what happened there to dampen what we were able to accomplish today.”
Ta’Niya Latson led South Carolina with 16 points, while Agot Makeer added 14 off the bench, supported by Joyce Edwards with 11 and Tessa Johnson with 10 in the win.
For UConn, projected 2026 WNBA draft top pick Azzi Fudd struggled, finishing with just eight points on 3-of-15 shooting. Only Sarah Strong (12 points on 4-of-16 shooting) and Ashlynn Shade (10 points on 5-of-11 shooting) reached double figures.
Dawn Staley Says She Has No Idea What Triggered Geno Auriemma’s Outburst After the game, ESPN’s Holly Rowe asked Dawn Staley what led to the late-game incident, and the Gamecocks coach said she was unsure.
“I’m of integrity,” she said. “So if I did something to wrong to Geno, I have no idea what I did. I guess he thought I didn’t shake his hand at the beginning of the game. I didn’t know.
“I went down there pre-game and shook everybody on his staff’s hand. I don’t know where he came with after the game.”
During the broadcast, Auriemma criticized the officiating, pointing to a stretch where UConn was called for six fouls while the Gamecocks were assessed only one in the same quarter. He also noted that, aside from struggling offensively, his players were dealing with physical defense.

Wilson is classless. She influenced Jeremiah Donati to ditch a 19-year Under Armour deal to join Nike (and “the establishment”) to send it to Ray Tanner (executive assistant to the president) and Shane Beamer.
So what was the story behind the confrontation ?
Many posts about the exchange, but no reason why led up to it
Huh? You think capitalism is illegal?
“Many posts about the exchange, but no reason why led up to it”
Once you boil it down it’s all about race.....it’s been my personal observation that many blacks see every situation that way first and foremost.
NCAA Womens sports says all I need to know.
Most non-Democrat dominated schools aren’t
allowed to play.
You won’t even come close to his legacy.
Whose legacy?>
Dawn Staley 8s racist from the get go...
The UCONN coach was yelling about something, haven’t heard what.
I’ve never been a fan of Geno. It didn’t really surprise me that much when he got frustrated and make a jerk out of himself in front of millions. Staley is no saint. But she almost looks like one compared to Auriemma.
Geno needs to apologize, but I doubt if he will. All Staley needs to do is to smile and keep her mouth shut. She has an easy path to the high road. She doesn’t need to throw Geno in the ditch. He jumped in it himself.
The only thing i heard was the UConn coach was pissed that 1) So Carolina players were getting a pass on fouls throughout the tournament 2) he was pissed the So Carolina coach was giving it to the officials and never got a technical foul called against her, which he believes he would’ve...
Regardless- UConn got their butts kicked and unless something really egregious happened to him or his players, Auriemma should’ve kept his mouth shut...
He claims that she didn’t shake his hand prior to the game. Photos showed that she did. If he is complaining that she didn’t follow protocol, then he also is without excuse, since he stormed out without going through the line at the end of the game to shake the hands of the South Carolina players. It was a classless moment on his part.
Legacy? A basketball coach?
Are you drunk on the brainwashing from the sports industrial complex?
My late father in law was a DFC awarded B24 waist gunner, declared by crewmates as having a superhuman aim. Yet humble, thankful for living through it. I don’t think I ever detected the slighted exaggeration from his lips, let alone a lie. He gave me his marvelous daughter’s hand in marriage.
Imo, none of these coaches were worthy of shining his shoes.
Wake up Americans! The commies plans include glorifying sports.
I had an uncle who served as a waist gunner in WW2 as well. He was the same, very humble, quiet and never talked about his experience at all. He raised a loving family of 8 kids. They are true heroes in my book. There is no way I am conflating their service and sacrifice to a college coaching job. Legacies can exist in both worlds. Unfortunately, today the glorification of sports and entertainment are in the forefront.
Sports are communist now. Fascinating. I was going to watch the Master’s next week but now I’m afraid it would give me Bolshevik inclinations.
She told her alma mater (mine) to ditch a deal that has been at the forefront of their Final Fours (men’s and women’s), best CFB finish, baseball titles, and even an individual tennis title (Jubb, 2019). Even the folks at Outkick said the Nike deal betrayed the legacy of an entire school from Spurrier to Shaw and Beamer. Before Wes Moore destroyed Under Armour, Tanner was working on Project Glory to bring factories to the state as part of Kevin Plank’s idea to bring manufacturing back and even got with President Trump. Shows the colours of Moore.
**Sports are communist now. Fascinating.**
Now? For decades it’s been on their list of things to control and emphasize in the USA.
“Crucifies”? And today of all days?
