Just 1.5% of suspected shooters in NYC over last two decades have been white

The elephant in the room grows bigger after a look at the latest violent crime statistics: blacks are the greatest perpetrators, and the greatest victims, of criminal violence. First, let’s look at a new stat, from AFPost on X:

There have been nearly 19,000 suspected shooters recorded in New York City since 2006.

Only 1.5% were listed as White.

That means just 285 suspected shooters were white, while a whopping 18,715 were non-white. When we cross-reference that data with numbers from the city, we see more of the whole picture. The latest report from the NYPD is from 2024, with a few brief and relevant points below:

- 66.8% of the shooting victims and 64.5% of the shooting suspects are black, despite blacks actually being less of the population (~22%) than both whites (~31%) and Hispanics (~28%).

- When we look at murder and other criminal acts of killing, we see that the victims are mostly blacks at 52.5% of the total, and also the majority when it comes time to the suspect population at 53.3%.

- The same trend is reflected with rape, robbery, and felonious assault, with only the felony and misdemeanor sex crimes being a bigger problem in the Hispanic community (both as victims and suspects)—with blacks coming in second. (Of course, those numbers are based on what’s in the computers, and with all that we saw over the last year or so with blacks and Hispanics being labeled as “white” in the system, I wonder if the discrepancies are actually greater in reality.)

Among the many problems, mandated costs and benefits that have nothing to do with producing a product and everything to do with being a drag on hiring are everywhere. The government and unions have put huge penalties on hiring people. Then there’s competition from societies structured totally differently, from the regulatory and safety environment to wages and societal cost structures. You can’t compete against slave labor, like in some areas of China an Africa.

The answers are in changing a raft of policies and laws, each of which is someone’s ox that needs to be gored. And you can’t gore just one ox. They all need to be dispatched at the same time. Then you have to overcome the inertia of people who are used to being “at rest.”

There shouldn’t be any such thing as “illegal firearms” If a person is a threat to society, he should be incarcerated. I agree with you on the racial profiling being a problem there, but it appears that a lenient justice system, also slanted by “racial profiling” is the bigger problem. Thefts, robberies, stabbings, assaults, burglaries, are also crimes, and when go unpunished can be expected to increase, and escalate into more serious criminal acts.

My guess is a lot of people are going to get their panties in a knot over this, labeling it racist. People have to learn that pointing out the facts is not racist: It's just pointing out the facts. Years ago, Jessy Jackson (against) and Orin Hatch (pro) were debating gun control. It went back-and-forth as you'd expect until Orin said:

If you remove the gun crimes committed by backs between the ages of 18 and 35, the US would have a lower murder rate than Switzerland.

I notice that many of these things are determined to be "random" and are reported as someone with a "mental disturbance". One might say, this kind of thing happens, but...it does beg the two questions: First, why does it always seem to be "mentally disturbed" black men doing the assault or murder in such disproportionate numbers?

And secondly, why do the victims appear so disproportionally to be non-black?

Granted, demographics do indicate that more of the victims would be non-black, simply due to numbers, and it is also true, if you were black, then you are at a higher risk of death or injury from another black person.

But one still must answer the first question.

We just had a mentally disturbed 30 year old white man a few towns over from me (in a town my family lived in for many years) who beat his mother to death with a skateboard a day or two ago. But this guy really does appear to be a schizophrenic. It is also a highly Leftist town, so that is no surprise either.

If an unusual percentage of black men are committing violent crimes that are characterized as "random" and due in the press to "mental disturbance" out of proportion to their percentage of the population, it is a fair thing to consider.

Are they really mentally disturbed, or just acting that way to try to get a lighter sentence, is it due to drugs, an actual higher percentage of mentally ill people in the black community, or...some other mechanism?

It has probably been done in some fashion, but it would be interesting to see if there is a disparity between blacks who have been in America for generations compared to blacks who grew up in some other country. It would be even more interesting to see a breakdown of violent crime within the black, non-American origin perpetrators of violent crime. For example, would it show that blacks who become naturalized from some sub-Saharan country have a higher crime rate that blacks from Jamaica other Caribbean country, or from South America?

Welfare destroyed the black family and normalized women having children by multiple men to maximize welfare income. Those offspring were raised without fathers. Ultra liberal DAs, prosecuting g attorneys and judges let them off or drop charges. Parole boards let them out early. Capital punishment is rare and takes decades. Soros and his ilk won’t hold them to account. Colleges teach worthless “studies” that perpetuates this nihilistic thinking.

There are so many stacked social pathologies that it seems hopeless.

Furthermore, when it became apparent that the statisics freely available to the public from the FBI violent crime database showed things that some people didn't want seen and "correct" conclusions were being drawn by people looking at facts, the Left took action and the database was subverted.

The database was the result of police and states all over the country voluntarily submitting detailed crime data to the database. When, after the BLM riots, people began seeing the problem clearly by slicing and dicing the publicly available data, the blue states and cities stopped sending data voluntarily.

Last I heard the data after around 2020 IIRC is no longer considered to be valid as it is skewed now. I used to go in there fairly often, as I was a bit of a data geek and could find my way around a spreadsheet with pivot tables and such, and was used to generating data for decisions in my job, so this was a natural curiosity for me.

But, as has been noted, this is thought to be racist to say these kinds of things aloud. Well, sometimes you just have to let the chips fall where they may. This guy linked below definitely understands this. He is thoughtful, independent-thinking black man (clearly a conservative) who speaks his mind, often a brave thing to be in the black community. I don't agree with everything he says, especially where he explains why Jews are held in such low esteem in parts of the black community, but the rest of it is spot on:
