Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu were booed by fans at the Red Sox home opener Friday.
The two Democrat politicians took the field at Fenway Park before Friday's game against the San Diego Padres for a pregame ceremony.
And the 36,000-plus fans in attendance showered the Democrats with relentless boos.
Footage of the booing went viral on social media, providing a boasting opportunity for Massachusetts' GOP gubernatorial hopefuls.
One of those candidates, Brian Shortsleeve, said in an X video, "Hey, everybody, coming to you from Fenway Park. Here’s a quick update: It’s a beautiful afternoon. The Red Sox are up by one. Maura Healey and Michelle Wu just got booed very loudly."
In another post, he wrote, "It was even louder in person!"
Another candidate, Mike Minogue, posted a video of Healey and Wu being booed, writing, "Looks like fans want someone else up to bat."

Who are the forum’s democrat activists? Name them please. We should oust them.
One poster the other day regarding President Trump wrote, “It’s time for him to take a break from his day job.” There was one thread the other day wherein nearly half of the posters not only opposed the President, but seemed to be sirens sounding the alarm that losses are ahead.
Okay. I saw those posts. That thread was appalling. Thanks for the reply.
MAIL IN BALLOTS.
36k to an MLB home opener? The Savannah Bananas sell out 90k seat stadiums and have a waiting list.
That is all that Fenway holds. The largest American baseball park, Dodger Stadium is only 56,000 seats. Most of them are the 40 K range.
I have some lunch friends from high school and if you asked them the following questions, they would answer in the following way:
"Do you agree with same-sex marriage? No."
"Should illegal aliens be allowed to vote? No."
"Should Iran be allowed to have nuclear weapons? No".
"Should males be allowed to compete in female sports? No"
"Should an ID be necessary to vote? Yes."
And yet they'll vote Democrat EVERY SINGLE TIME!
They were clearly yelling “Let’s Go Brandon!”
I was at a Red Sox game in 2021 and a chant of “Let’s go Brandon!” burst out, in the original Anglo-Saxon.
A Wu Boo
It’s a puzzlement to me why, if so many people are opposed to these two, they don’t rally with pitchforks and torches in the tradition of Lexington and Concord!
California is much the same.
The two “top” contenders in the upcoming gubernatorial race are republicans; but they’ll be titular only and unable to overcome the California Assembly.
Vote-stealing is the fabric of California politics.
I experienced the same when in Chicago...people with 2 opinions. We would hold a community meeting of 2,000 people in a quarter sq mile area of 10,000 people. Everybody from preacher to welfare mom to business owner to college student would rail against the Mayor and Alderman.
Then we would have a meeting with the mayor with the same people present and 1,000 of the 2,000 would kiss the mayors backside. It was frustrating.
Democrats == The ends justify the means + really really stupid.
Unfortunately, it’s Massachusetts, so a lot of the people who booed will vote for them anyway ...
We know the true fans hate them.
We know the true fans hate them.
Doesn’t matter. They’ll all get re-elected, given the number of morons that reside in Massachusetts.
They probably loved it - made them feel very important in a twisted sort of way.
The fellowship of the miserable, booing the hacks they elected. As long as that all-important ‘D’ is next to the name, they’ll all be re-elected including 100 percent of the cemetary vote.
Typical dem politician, insinuating themselves in an event, a celebration in which they have no part and are completely irrelevant. Attention whores.
Good for the Sweet Caroline crowd!! Way to go Sox fans!! 👏🏻 ⚾️
