Americans would be ‘up at night worrying’ if they knew the truth about alien life, Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett says
New York Post ^ | 4-3-26 | Richard Pollina

Posted on 04/04/2026 4:29:16 AM PDT by MarlonRando

Burchett — a member of the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets — recalled that he was briefed two weeks ago “on an issue” about extraterrestrial life that “would have set the Earth” on fire and “unglued” the country if released.

When Finnerty played a clip of former Rep. Matt Gaetz alleging knowledge of alien-human hybrid breeding programs, Burchett stopped short of directly addressing the explosive claims. “I’m still a member of Congress, so I can’t really comment too much on what Matt said,” Burchett told Finnerty.

“Wait, seriously?” Finnerty slightly pushed back.

“I’m being 100% serious,” Burchett replied.

Burchett did not say this briefing was in a SCIF, but SCIFs are required by law and policy for TS/SCI level classified briefings–and when Burchett speaks of a briefing about extraterrestrial life that "would have set the Earth on fire" and "unglued" the country if released, we can almost certainly conclude such a briefing would sit at the TS/SCI level at minimum .

As an aside, any UAP file that involves intelligence collection methods–radar systems, satellite imagery, signals intelligence, reconnaissance data–is automatically TS/SCI because it reveals sources and methods.

Some of it is really fun to look at. but even the good ones lack a certain ‘life’ or ‘spirit’, and you get tired of them.

My point is, how do you know Burchett is telling the truth about the ‘briefing’; and even if he is, how do you know he was being told anything true?

I have given up worrying about stuff that I can’t do anything about. It’s very liberating, and it leaves me time to worry about things need my concern.

You can’t get there from here and they (if they exist) can’t get here from there. They’re too far away

So despite ample evidence of many other forms of propulsion exist, even those that we know are theoretically possible or things our materials science cannot yet make, you insist that aliens must use rocket propulsion.

You have likely never heard of Pulsar Fusion, a British company. They have a working duel drive direct fusion drive, called Sunbird. The test of the working devise [ not a prototype ] was sent live to Blue Origin’s Bezos’ Mars Conference in California.

Summary:
Key Highlights of the Sunbird Fusion Drive:
Technology: The engine uses a dual direct fusion drive fueled by deuterium and helium-3, creating an aneutronic reaction that is cleaner and more efficient than traditional nuclear systems.

Performance Goals: By eliminating the need for a separate reactor middleman, the Sunbird engine could potentially reduce human transit time to Mars to as little as 45 days [ currently 7 to 9 months ], Pluto in 4 years [ currently to enter orbit around Pluto (rather than just flyby) are estimated to take 18 to 27 years due to the significant fuel requirements needed to decelerate upon arrival ].

Versatility: The system is designed as a reusable space tug capable of providing both high-velocity thrust and up to 2 megawatts of electrical power for spacecraft instruments and life support.

Comparison with Existing Technology:
Nuclear Electric Propulsion (NEP) & VASIMR: While NASA is currently pursuing NEP and the VASIMR thruster, these systems are noted for having lower thrust-to-power ratios and requiring heavy, complex radiator arrays compared to Pulsar Fusion’s direct approach.

Next Steps:
The company is moving from this initial exhaust architecture proof-of-concept toward full static fire tests, with ambitions for an in-orbit demonstration by 2027.

As of early April 2026, Pulsar Fusion has achieved a major milestone in nuclear fusion for space travel by successfully generating “first plasma” in its Sunbird nuclear fusion rocket exhaust system. This test, conducted in March 2026 and demonstrated live at Jeff Bezos’s MARS Conference, marks the first time a fusion rocket prototype has confined plasma - an essential step toward viable fusion propulsion.

The test used krypton gas and validated the core Dual Direct Fusion Drive (DDFD) architecture, which uses superconducting magnets to contain and direct plasma for high-speed exhaust, potentially reaching over 500,000 mph [ 223.5 km/s ]. While not yet producing net thrust, this achievement confirms the system’s ability to generate and control the extreme conditions needed for fusion propulsion.

Pulsar Fusion plans to upgrade to rare-earth, high-temperature superconducting magnets and integrate rotating magnetic field and RF heating systems to improve plasma performance. The company aims to conduct an in-orbit demonstration of key components by 2027, with a production-ready fusion propulsion system targeted for the early 2030s.

And that’s just the closest star. We can look, but we can’t touch.

That's true. For now.

Did I say I believed him? I was challenging the other poster's comments wherein he said that classified briefings are as valid as "'friend of a friend' tall tales."

Whether Burchett is telling the truth is another matter altogether.

There were always limits in physics…..then came Chuck Yeager.

That "limit" was known to be false.

And Chuck Yeager has the record for breaking the sound barrier in level flight. Other pilots had previously broken the sound barrier in dives. Some even survived.

It might, I say might, occur to some of you that the Pentagon may be just a bit less in the dark than we are. That there is another organization that sits above the Pentagon in this regard.

Where is Heaven located? Yet the Angels of God go from there to here at God’s command. (I agree with Vance; the “aliens are demons.)

...rockets, lasers and space travel as an example of what did not exist before mankind made it happen. What ‘already existing physical evidence’ was there of those things before they were invented?

There was evidence that lasers could exist long before they were invented. Albert Michelson built his interferometer in the 1880s, building on his work and the work of his predecessors from nearly a century prior. They realized that light was a frequency and such a frequency could be altered. He and others detailed how future scientists could change the frequency of light through the right medium (first ruby and later gas) by altering the field around it.

He was awarded the Rumford Prize by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences "For his determination of the velocity of light, for his research on the motion of the luminferous ether, and for his work on the absolute determination of the wavelengths of light."

Maybe you can be the first person to patent a means to use wormholes. But first you have to prove wormholes exist.

Physics is the same for your theoretical smart civilization as it is for us

Not necessarily. Take James Clerk Maxwell [ 13 June 1831 - 5 November 1879. a Scottish physicist and mathematician ] who postulated 200 field equations of which only 4 were used by Oliver Heaviside and converted into vector equations. Why only 4? Why converted? Because he hated field equations which he thought of as abominations.

What the 4 equations do? They gave us everything we know about the entire electromagnetic spectrum.

His •original• book [ “A Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field” ] is so rare that only a few copies exist. There are ‘modern’ versions, but they omit much of the original materiel.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Clerk_Maxwell

The unused 196 field equations predict free energy [ was inspiration for N. Tesla ], his discoveries helped usher in the era of modern physics, laying the foundations for such fields as relativity, also being the one to introduce the term into physics, and quantum mechanics [ was inspiration for A. Einstein ], and the ability to move from one place in the Universe to another by merely stepping through ].

What if those “alien” discovered the same principles that Maxwell did and acted on them? How far in advance of us would they be in physics and everything else? Their physics would be vastly different from ours.

I am a devoted SciFi fan also but understand it’s fiction. The worse the science is in the story the quicker my interest in the story\episode\series dies. (There are some exceptions!) For example, I loathe Lost in Space and Dr Who, even did as a kid! Exceptions to my general rule is: “Does the series have hot chicks?”. Which means I’ll tolerate UFO UK TV series* & Space 1999 (a lessor hot chick’s factor here!).

* Extraordinarily dumb aliens even dumber the the ones supposedly visting now! Current aliens can’t drive! I suspect they’re the equivalent of drunken teenagers joy riding.
