Freepers, where's gasdr? He touted the wonderfulness of the covid vaccine and defended it vociferously. He was also a welcome poster on other topics. I note he hasn't posted anything since 10/31/25 and it's worrisome.

I was never one to demonize anyone for being pro-Covid vaccine or advocating it - I never had a problem wth President Trump defending / advocating it.
My issue was the coercion via mandates, proof of vaccination requirements and shaming of those who chose not to get vaccinated.
After looking at some past comments just now, I gather you were treated badly for being pro-vaccine by some on FR - that’s shameful.

I never took the vaccine. So I disagreed with him.
My wife and I did get covid. From our kids who had to get vaccinated to keep their jobs. Ironic, only because we were ALL told at the time our kids couldn't get it because of the vaccination.
He had suggested privately if I ever got covid, to use monoclonal antibodies. We did, but I'll never know if they helped for sure because my case was already mild, and going away. It was a good suggestion by him.
Most of the time, we disagreed. Most of the time it was fine.
I still think, and told him multiple times toward the end of covid, that the shots caused more harm than good, particularly for young people.
I think the research now says I was right.
And I still appreciate the discussion I had with him.
Ironically neither am I. I took crap from both sides for my stance.

That sounds like something I wrote. I was asking genuione questions, and stating what the news of the event and disease process would be occuring. I never attacked you, i stated a clinical judgmenet, and i still see no counter argument. I stated my intent, i stated politely my position, and stated that i would not engage in further debate citing the sources on which i drew my judgment.
