Secretary of War Pete Hegseth fired two more Army Generals on Thursday after he ousted Army Chief of Staff General Randy George.
General George served in the role under Biden’s Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
“General Randy A. George will be retiring from his position as the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army effective immediately,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said.
“The Department of War is grateful for General George’s decades of service to our nation. We wish him well in his retirement,” Parnell said.
Two other Army generals were removed along with George, said two defense officials, who like some others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the shake-up.
They are Gen. David Hodne, who became the head of the service’s Training and Transformation Command in October, and Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., the chief of Army chaplains.
With George’s ouster, Hegseth has remade nearly the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff, a panel of senior military officers at the Pentagon that advises both the president and the secretary. The only ones remaining from when Hegseth took office in January 2025 are Gen. Eric M. Smith, commandant of the Marine Corps, and Gen. B. Chance Saltzman, head of the Space Force.

What we have here is the “current” culmination of President Clinton’s POLITICALIZATION of the Military; It has taken a full 30-years to boomerang back with major damage.
Clinton openly started this within DOD at the General Officer level and within the FBI. Going beyond the Political Appointees, demanding idealogical hacks in the ranks has resulted in non-Military considerations taking precedence over military expertise.
We all saw in real time the Obama purges. We witnessed these same effects under Biden.
However, under Trump we have a situation that is going to make for a Special Good Friday night service.
Nobody inside the Trump Admin can get it’s story straight on why we attacked Iran. The primary objects changed as fast as someone with a TV remote flipping thru the channels.

Trump Admin is looking for people to blame, as well as people to rubber stamp military operations based on a sitting president’s political calculations.

Failure to protect Radars, bases, and the very governments who hosted American Forces for their own security are in tatters. Minus A$$ Kisser Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States adjacent Iran have been put on life support. The actual Countries built on Sands find the shifting of time and money creating a picture of Sand Castles, the rulers simply family’s put in charge at the behest of the West. Those fake nations with family rule have no history other than oil.
There are several long term calculations in play with Iran and the driving force is the American Economic Recession. The Dollar under pressure, dependent in large major not Gold but Oil, has found a way to maintain America’s world positoning. We eliminated Germany and the EU manufacturing over Oil with Ukraine; we have further destroyed an economic/financial challengers outside the west with the destruction of the Middle East and Oil.
The simple destruction of the Oil Business by the US is in full swing. Trump tried to capture or cut off oil to Europe, he has taken Venezuelan oil, and making a final grab for Iranian oil. Brics is also important as Iran is the Cross-Roads at which China & Russia open North South Trade Routes into Africa and then to S.America.
Since President Bush the United States has been attacking nations that have oil and taking it over. We did this 30 years ago by grabbing Syria’s Oil occupying Syrian Oil fields with US Forces. Iraqi Oil - check. Oil for Israel - check. You can run down a check list and see US Aggression has either put American forces or proxy govenments in charge of Oil we essentially manage on the world market.
Even Ukraine has over 200 Oil and LNG fields - the map overlay of these run all along the North Russian/Ukrainian border - the US Coup in Ukraine gave the West control of oil fields within attack range of Moscow.
Trump rolled the dice. He needs someone to take the blame and someone to rubber stamp his orders to the military. The officers being retired or removed have had Military Law of War Training and they know what the charges, and hangings of Germany WWII Civilian and Military Leadership for the very same actions Trump is giving orders to use military force.
Trump has embrassed this country. The Rise of Brics and fall of Brentonwoods/PetroDollar is at hand. Trump’s behavior when talking about killing, talking about bombing, threatening the destruction of society, and other such ramblings are not Sane nor permissible under the UN Charter.
Trump has trashed International Law. God help him/the US when this is all over. Trump has broken every measure of civilized behavior. The world may fear America going forward, but the world will not choose freely US leadership.
Trump has single handedly set the planet on fire by destroying the oil trade in order to save the US financial position. The US cannot fix a broken economy but if we destroy all the other major economies and financail centers, the Last Man standing no matter how poor wins.
Trump is not just threatening to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age where he says based on his judgment that they belong (in the Stone Age). Trump is destroying the world and sentencing millions to death by starvation and wars of his choosing.
Pin a medal on the country that hauls Trump before the International Court at The Hauge. No modern leader since WWII deserves more to be tried for crimes against humanity - his destruction of the Gulf States, and the subsuquent disruption of life for billions, and the resultant death of millions, make Trump and American responsible.
The Generals know there is no feasible miltiary solution and continued destruction of life support are war crimes at the level of Trump. His Stone Age Bombings alone are cause for Congress to Impeach or Remove him. The odds of Trump facing justice at The Hague or America for the millions who are going to die from the Global Disruption Trump ordered are just about Zero. There will be Generals who will bomb Iran into the Stone Age. There are already some who have refused based on solid legal case law.
Trump will have his own place in the history books the man who single handedly killed more people thru starvation and wars than anyone before. The suffering will go long past his remaining three years in office.
America has gone from Leader to the most feared. It did not happen overnight. It essentially started with the Clinton illegal NATO wars in former Yugoslavia and it continues at this moment. If Trump can’t make NATO be party to a losing war effort or the deaths of millions in the fallout, Trump will blame NATO.
Congress do your job and at least hold pliminary sessions in secret to determine Trump’s fitness, or America’s tolerance for a Thug tearing up the world and International Law.
All the anti-International Law cheerleaders will soon enough discover without basic legal protections, no one and no property is safe in a world without laws or rules. America is going to soon discover we need the world more than the world needs America in it’s current rendention.

Our military has been in serious trouble with politics since Bush I/Clinton - those two are indistinguishable as to whether a CIA Director President or Clinton’s politicalization of the GO corps and capture of the FBI/CIA.
Maybe these guys are being removed for their reservations as to the fitness of POTUS given his public pronouncements.

None that I can find. I mentioned this article from the detestable Daily Beast to highlight to attempt to make it about sex or race. My basic take on the whole is simple. When a superior issues an order -- and especially in the case of something as basic as a promotions list -- it's an order. Put a name on it. Take a name off it. That's it.
When an inferior in rank refuses an order from a superior in rank, it's down to basics.

Hegseth had to replace the admiral before taking down Maduro. It may be that some of his generals are not on board with the current operation in Iran. It is a high risk high stakes gamble after all.
As an Army personnel clerk in 66-67 I remember officers grumbling about LBJ, McNamara and Whiz Kids forcing “Goldwater types” out of the Army. My Guess Lincoln and every president had complaints.
From the purely military perspective it raises 2 questions:
1) Is it useful for team members to have different strategy and tactics? Is it useful for the tight end to think the play is a pass to him play when the halfback thinks its a run play?
2) Is it useful to have team members on the bench ready to jump in when there is a change of tactics...and even strategy? Sometimes it is useful to have a halfback who can catch the ball. Sometimes it is more useful to have a halfback who can block the defensive tight end from reaching the quarter back.
3) Is it useful for the coach and each teammember to have his own idea as to what is the best strategy and tactics and thus, what is the best make up of the members of the team?
