Secretary of War Pete Hegseth fired two more Army Generals on Thursday after he ousted Army Chief of Staff General Randy George.
General George served in the role under Biden’s Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
“General Randy A. George will be retiring from his position as the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army effective immediately,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said.
“The Department of War is grateful for General George’s decades of service to our nation. We wish him well in his retirement,” Parnell said.
Two other Army generals were removed along with George, said two defense officials, who like some others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the shake-up.
They are Gen. David Hodne, who became the head of the service’s Training and Transformation Command in October, and Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., the chief of Army chaplains.
With George’s ouster, Hegseth has remade nearly the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff, a panel of senior military officers at the Pentagon that advises both the president and the secretary. The only ones remaining from when Hegseth took office in January 2025 are Gen. Eric M. Smith, commandant of the Marine Corps, and Gen. B. Chance Saltzman, head of the Space Force.

Geez. I guess I was wrong about the DEI stuff. Shirin Gupta of the Hindustan Times has now gotten involved in defending U.S. Generals.
Not my argument to make, but I’m going to comment anyway. I believe two of these guys were commissioned after 1991. That tells me they have been steeped in political correctness their entire career. I know this because that is when ALL of us were quickly dosed with PC, which later became the Woke poison we see today. The other, George, is a complete bad-ass and I have no idea why he got canned.
Politics starts in all branches above major or at least lt colonel
It’s always been that way
They come and go
Few navigate around that reality
Syphilis has been around a long time too. Doesn’t mean it’s good.
Maj. Gen. William Green Jr. is a gentleman of color who got his seminary degree from liberal Emory University and was in the liberal American Baptist Convention.
General Randy George was an affirmative action advocate.
Harder to spot why Hodne got fired.
General Idi Amin Dada????
And our soldiers can carry their personal protection weapons on base again. Anti coup measure started by Obama during his first week in office, if I remember right...
General Idi Amin Dada????
That’s 2 D’s, 2 A’s and one gun!
One great way of seeing who the libtards are is by looking up the generals and seeing who was president when they made each star... and the first one in particular.
All general offices sre nominated by the president.
It’s essentially ignorance and a dislike of military personnel. I don’t see how posters can jackass about GEN George based on no as yet available evidence about his in-service conduct unless the poster has contempt for military service personnel.
That's your personal problem ... don't project it onto others. Since you "don't see how", you should bloody well ASK THEM. Instead, you arrogantly presume to know their states of mind, and state your personal opinion as fact.
Shame on you.
DEI always raises the concern that certain “success stories” are because of DEI.
Sure, we don’t know, he may have been nothing but a fantastic serviceman - but this is the worst aspect of DEI, you’re always curious if it played a role.
Medals and awards alone aren’t necessarily the sole basis for making General.
I’m not disagreeing with you, only that DEI creates a default “things that make you go hmmmm”.
:) ! ! ! ! :)
Anyone installed by Obamas dementia carcass or his incompetent DEI hire Lloyd Austin should be purged.
I’m surprised this has not already been done. Any of this kind still left will only be pretending to be ‘patriots’ to stay in and sabotage during key moments.
And there it is: served under Lloyd Austin. He should have kept his loyalties to his current SOW.
When a poster posts derogatory comments about GEN George’s conduct and provides no evidence to back up that claim, that’s jackassin’.
Instead comments like:
“General Randy George was an affirmative action advocate.”
“More dredging of the swamp.”
“DEI Dies hard.”
cast aspersions on GEN George and denigrate his service.
In fact, GEN George dropped the Army’s “People First” slogan and subsequent npolicies that were driven by that - see https://www.military.com/daily-news/2024/09/23/armys-top-enlisted-leader-removed-diversity-consideration-top-enlisted-roles.html
Sorry that it makes you uncomfortable that those kinds of comments get called out when they are not backed up with some sort of data.
Don’t forget “President for Life”..
Look farther afield.
"George, along with Army Secretary Daniel P. Driscoll, reportedly refused to remove two Black and two female officers from a list of military members slated for promotion to one-star generals. This defiance against Hegseth's directives is believed to be a key factor in his dismissal."
In any chain of command, there are links and some are of higher authority than others. If I am your superior, I would expect your actions within the bounds of my authority. Were you my superior, you would expect your actions within the bounds of my authority.
From an article:
"A new report claims George was ousted because he and Army Secretary Daniel P. Driscoll refused to remove two Black and two female officers from a list of military members to be promoted to become one-star generals.Beaus, you see, the Secretary of War is a "probable racist," and we have the testimony of the Daily Beast for this. They also noted he was an "evangelical," so...."George and Driscoll defied Hegseth, according to The New York Times, and cited the long and exemplary service of the four officers as justification for their being on the list for promotion."
Pentagon Pete Fires Top Generals and Promotes MAGA Suck-Up Daily Beast, 3 April 2026.
"Hegseth had allegedly targeted officers based on their race, gender, or links to Biden administration policies. His personal intervention in the promotion process has raised concerns, with one U.S. official stating, 'There is not a single service that has been immune to this level of involvement by Hegseth'."One notes the conflation of " links to Biden administration policies" to under-gird "targeting" "based on their race, gender...."
The forced retirement of MG Green is easier to understand. Hegseth has made significant changes in the Chaplainship - stripping the wearing of rank insignia, reducing the number of recognized religious orders from several hundred to just 31 and changing their mission from focus on inclusion , diversity and mental health to the religious care of service members. Perhaps MG Green was not fully on board.
No idea about Gen Hodne.
