DRAMA: Rep. Nancy Mace "walks out" of Congressional briefing on war with Iran
X ^ | March 25 | Rep. Mace

Posted on 03/25/2026 12:18:25 PM PDT by RandFan

@RepNancyMace

Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran. Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing.

@RepNancyMace

The justifications presented to the American public for the war in Iran were not the same military objectives we were briefed on today in the House Armed Services Committee. This gap is deeply troubling. The longer this war continues, the faster it will lose the support of Congress and the American people.

@RepNancyMace

Washington’s war machine is hard at work. They are try to drag us into Iran to make it another Iraq. We can’t let them.

you’re just a jabbering propagandist

Are you serious? You, of all people, calling someone *else* a propagandist?

She wasn't in the room either if she "walked out."

Recall that this is the individual who spoke at a prayer breakfast and told the gathering she was on time for it because she declined to have sex that morning with the man she woke up next to in her bed that she lives with (and not married to) but she would take care of that later that night when she saw him. That's not a person to be taken seriously.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/nancy-mace-fiance-premarital-sex-b2383270.html Ms Mace shared the “TMI” news at the 13th Annual South Carolina Prayer Breakfast hosted by 2024 presidential candidate, South Carolina Sen Tim Scott, on Wednesday. The Republican congresswoman said, “When I woke up this morning at 7, I was getting picked up at 7.45, Patrick, my fiancé, tried to pull me by my waist over this morning in bed. And I was like, ‘No, baby, we don’t got time for that this morning.’” “I gotta get to the prayer breakfast, and I gotta be on time,” “He can wait, I’ll see him later tonight.”

In every battle, there comes a time when both sides consider themselves beaten. Then he who continues the attack wins.

Just wow. I did not ever read or hear about that quote. That is my life philosophy. Until my last breath. Told my students in class so. Unapologetic until death. Come and get some. Thank you so much for posting that.

See Post #24. When some of these Republicans from deep red districts and states come out and say this sort of thing, I think it’s safe to say they are getting an earful of sh!t from their constituents at home.

Nancy Mace is right.

That said, she may be asking for a check from the MIC for her campaign.

She'll play ball once she gets $$$.

That’s great. Now go enlist and do something about.

Was gonna do that in 1979 if that stupid sh*t for brains Carter had just declared war. Now I would probably just get in the way.

It’s been decades since I believed anything the U.S. government has told me.

I don't know what that has to do with the fact the Iranian Mullahs would have started a nuclear war. The US Government didn't tell me that. The Iranian lunatics themselves told me that.

I don't care if the US Government is lying or not. Taking out the Mullahs is absolutely necessary to have a decent future on this planet.

That is a textbook example of an ad hominem argument.

For the record, I have never once said on this thread (or anywhere else) that I believe she’s telling the truth. I have no idea if she’s telling the truth.

The real story here is that she’s openly calling out the Trump administration on this. And she’s not the only one who at least has serious reservations.

Reading between the lines here, I’m speculating that these members of Congress are convinced they have been fed a line of lame bullsh!t that doesn’t come close to justifying anything close to the military response we’ve seen to date.

It is also a bit far fetched to claim Mossadegh was democratically installed - his party was almost certainly going to lose the election so he halted counting and only had a fraction of the parliamentary offices seated. He continued to clash with the Shah and the Shah ordered him dismissed from the role of Prime Minister - that was indeed within the Shah’s authority. Mossadegh then attempted to overthrow the Shah and failed (with the CIA’s help, as is known) and the powers of government were fully reclaimed to the Crown - Mossadegh instead of operating according the constitutional order stirred up a popular uprising which was followed by all of the resulting conflict...effectively ending democracy in Iran.

. . . kicking the can down the road on the way out the door. If you don’t make this evil regime and the Revolutionary Guard extinct, you are just inviting big trouble down the road. Eventually, they will get a nuke to use on us.

Time for both sides of this debate to have a laugh—let’s ask Lindsay Graham what to do.

Mace has taken a non-interventionist America First stance.

Agreed. Mace is right on this one.

Carter had no power to declare war. If you don’t know that, then anyone conversing with you on political matters is probably wasting his time.

Ironically, someone here on FR posted a reference the other day to an executive order signed by Carter in 1979 as the formal justification for military action against Iran in 2026.

For what it’s worth, I can’t think of anything that does more to undermine the credibility of anyone today than citing Jimmy Carter as an authority on anything in public matters. LMAO.

She’s a classic female narcissist……
Better that the worthless members of congress are not briefed on military plans unless Trump wants it leaked.

The bigger point there is that the U.S. had no reason to GAF about the workings of Iran’s government in 1953.

Although I suspect Bibi Netanyahu was already telling anyone who would listen that “Iran is just weeks away from developing nuclear weapons” all the way back in 1953 … at the tender young age of 4. :-P

Probably trolls pretending to be citizens. I see it on a lot of websites.

But even so, the representative form of government hinges on the ability of Representatives to do what they see as in the best interests of their constituency, even if that constituency is stupid and/or ignorant, and doesn't want to do the right thing.

If we end up with major boots on the ground, then the NeverTrump warmongering, deep state has won and taken over President Trump’s administration. Americans do not have the appetite for another drawn out war and occupation. I hope President Trump gets his political instincts back.

If you’re going to run for elected office, don’t make that last item your campaign slogan. :-P
