Carter had no power to declare war. If you don’t know that, then anyone conversing with you on political matters is probably wasting his time.
Ironically, someone here on FR posted a reference the other day to an executive order signed by Carter in 1979 as the formal justification for military action against Iran in 2026.
For what it’s worth, I can’t think of anything that does more to undermine the credibility of anyone today than citing Jimmy Carter as an authority on anything in public matters. LMAO.
