He hasn’t paid income tax in over 30 years and claims he hasn’t gone to jail because Americans are not legally required to file…..
@PeterSchiff
My father also said, “Show me the law.” He coined the term “confession” to describe the 1040. Though the government never showed him any law that required him to pay income taxes or file an income tax confession, corrupt judges orchestrated convictions to protect the government.

Post 30 asked you “Have you ever filed income taxes in this country, or been required to?”
That seems relevant to your thread.
I remember this subject came up 15-20 years ago on
FR, seems Minnesota never voted to approve the 16th
yet the powers that be went ahead with taxes anyways.
One half of 1 percent if you made over $20k about
110 years ago or so iirc.
In Law, definitions mean something. Those who state that they are not required to comply are technically correct, like Germans who were not technically required to support Hitler. If they didn’t, the Law had them put down. The Law has been outside its proscribed limitations for over a Century now, that doesn’t make it right.
It is in the definition of income that is the problem. Wages are not income. It is a barter with an employer. Now the employer takes an idea, turns a profit. An employee makes no profit.
Wages are literally income. Income is money that comes to you.
So a businessman invests money, makes a business, has an income from it. He gets to deduct the cost of the buildings, the facilities, transportation, and write off the wear and tear on machinery. This man is deducts all before profit.
A man goes to work, everything he is paid, is considered income. In short, the equipment which is his skill, mind and body are non deductible, although they are finite. He is chattel. Wages are not income, it is a straight trade for value. Like purchasing his time. This is time he can never get back no matter how long he lives.
