HOLLYWOOD, CA — The horror movie Sinners has officially won the Oscar for "Crappiest Movie To Win An Oscar".
The award each year goes to the most awful, banal cinematic catastrophe that somehow squeaks out an Oscar for being extra gay or not having any white people in it.
"And the award goes to...Sinners!" announced host Conan O'Brien. "You actually won an Oscar for that appalling pile of trash, congratulations. Really, it's an amazing accomplishment to somehow score an Oscar for that monstrous affront to writing and acting, well done. Tip of the cap."
At publishing time, Sinners had also taken home the award for "Best Movie No One At The Academy Actually Watched Because Life Is Too Short."
I saw it, and yes, it did not deserve to win. It had to, because it had both black and gay boxes checked.
There are several worse. Out of Africa, Crash, Oppenheimer, Annie Hall....
Just from seeing the previews in the theater, I could see the movie “Sinners” was going to throw in the usual
White Men BAD & DANGEROUS theme, common in most films with black starring roles. Typical Dem/ Plantation scare tactics. Too bad, but not surprising. The other acting was mostly Over-acting to everything.
You get a nation of affluphobes?
It's bestowed only by the people, often not immediately. It's the reason there are some films that initially bomb at the theater but go on to become cultural legends through time, appreciation, and word of mouth. It's the only thing that matters.
Rule of thumb, never see a movie the critics like. They all pick crap.
Egad I remember that stroll down eeeww lane. Made me not feel sorry when trans get their arses kicked.

A little off topic but here goes.
In my city I can’t think of one place a black person would fear going because White people might do them harm.....conversely, the list of places I wouldn’t go for fear of my safety from blacks is literally too long to list.

I can see that. But DTD had that Selma scene. Sinners did NOT have anything that interesting.

I actually enjoyed it until near the end with the blatant kill whitey message.

Hollywood had been out of original ideas for years now and it’s pretty sad when you have to steal an idea from 90+ years ago.
