Not satisfied with being commander-in-chief, Donald Trump has become the White House’s very own shoe salesman.
The US president has been buying his favourite shoes for his staff so frequently that they have become the unofficial White House uniform.
One female White House official told the Wall Street Journal: “All the boys have them. It’s hysterical because everybody’s afraid not to wear them.”
Mr Trump has fallen in love with Florsheim, a brand that sells some pairs for as little as $49.90 (£37.27) – a far cry from his expensive Brioni suits.
The president has been buying the shoes for agency heads and members of Congress. He often speaks about how “incredible” they are.
Such is Mr Trump’s devotion to the brand, that he guesses people’s shoe size in front of them, puts in the order, and a week later it turns up, sometimes with the president’s signature on the box.
That includes one unnamed cabinet secretary who had to stop wearing his Louis Vuittons and put on a pair of Florsheims instead.
Among those who have a pair of Trump-approved Florsheims are JD Vance, the vice-president, Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, Sean Duffy, the transportation secretary, Pete Hegseth, the defence secretary, and Howard Lutnick, the commerce secretary.
Mr Trump’s friends, Fox News personality Sean Hannity and Senator Lindsey Graham, also have a pair each.

A mall anchor.....Florsheim Shoes.
Docksides and Bass Weejuns are the only shoe my feet have known for 55 years. The Bass Loafers were merely what was required for my job that required dress shoes be worn.
Did Marco and.Vance get a pair?
Same here. Dad's recruit training in 1944 at Samson Naval Base and carrier deck operations made him a stickler for having lights off upon leaving a room, doors closed, and the tiniest speck of lint or trash picked up. If he saw us kids leave something unattended, out-of-place, or lying on the floor he always said: "if that ends up in the water, you're going in after it."
They are good shoes, and stylish.
For business and church.
It hardly matters at this point.
Oddly enough, I have a pair of Thom McAnn black wing-tips I bought about 35 years ago, (weddings and funerals) still fit and wear just fine.
Last time I listened to (great American) Hannity probably 10-15 years ago, I recall him bragging about his cowboy boots, which I suppose come in handy when you're practicing martial arts on Long Island, NY.
The vintage US made Florsheim Royal Imperials in Shell Cordovan are some of the best dress shoes ever made and arguably the best non bespoke shoes ever made.
They are total works of art.
If Trump is having Florsheim custom make some of their classic shoes to their old quality and workmanship standards for his White House crew than they a very lucky people indeed.
I wear tasseled loafers by Cole Hahn. It’s a classic.

Weejuns...Without socks.
Zappa’s song “Wonderful Wino” comes to mind for some silly stupid reason ...
“But I’m a wino man
I can’t help myself
I’ve been drinkin’ all night
Till my eyes got red
Stumbled on the gutter
And busted my head
Bugs in my zoot suit
Been scratchin’ like a dog
I can’t stand no water
And I stink like a hog
Give me a five dollar bill
And an overcoat too
Give me a five dollar bill
And an overcoat too
A five dollar bill and an overcoat too
A five dollar bill and a Florsheim shoe”
I’ve been wearing tassel loafers all my adult life. Is that a problem?

Sources say.
But it will be something for the democrats to go ballistic over anyway. “Trump unconstitutionally gifts cabinet members shoes.” “Trump demands cult loyalty forcing cabinet members to wear Florsheim.” “Historical connection of Florsheim shoes to white supremacy and Hitler revealed.”
When I started dressing like a grownup, I bought several pairs of Hanover shell cordovans — just like my father. They were great value.
Any socks with sandals!
This is the style. My son has been in several weddings and the ones that wear suits ... the suits are skin tight and the shoes are brown.
