I learned tonight that Freeper 'Nopardons' passed in late September, after a short illness.
She was an extraordinary lady, with deep knowledgeable of history, literature and art.
I am going to greatly miss our many late-night email conversations, and I know that there are others here who valued her and her friendship as I did.
RIP, darling NP.
Yeah, that’s what happened. I posted a link to her webpage for people who didn’t know who she was, but evidently what’s it’s name took offense and I thought its post was from a thread about the war.

With all due respect and thanking you for remembering a special FRiend to us. I’m surprised that thread went that direction, I was able to review a lot of her posts there. Of course I remembered her name, but at least for several months she and I didn’t interact. But it was meaningful to me to see what mattered to her, especially in July of last year to read that she watched Charlie Kirk everyday for years. How poignant the Lord took her at a time that her heart was heavy over a loss so dear to her everday life.
Thank you for letting us know. I too regularly shared messages with Abby over a lengthy period. We found that we had a lot of shared interests, especially in books and history. The last message I got from her was dated 9/15/25 telling me she was in the hospital with the CCP flu, and was unhappy because they kept giving her bananas and oatmeal, two things she hated. I wrote her on 9/24 because I’d heard nothing back from her, then wrote again on 10/10. She was always very good about responding, so I worried that she’d taken a turn for the worse. I knew no one else to contact to check up on her. I’m sorry that my suspicions proved to be true. I hope she is pain-free now and in heaven with our Lord. I feel bad for her grandson who she was so proud of. I know they were close, and hope the family is comforted by the good memories they have of her.
Prayers up
May she rest in peace.
Ping.
Yes; when Nopardons didn’t respond or post, we knew something was going wrong. She was always on the ball even when she was not feeling well.
She knew a lot of “stuff”, for sure — a broad base of knowledge. I believe she was well versed in all things etiquette, the royal ins and outs, etc.
Very sorry to hear this. Prayers for her loved ones.
Yes, I knew her. She will be missed.
She was probably pissed as hell at the people here who think the 19th amendment was a mistake :-)
My gosh. I will miss her. I had plenty of discourse with her. Hope she is with God, and may she RIP.
Precisely
RIP. Prayers going up!
Occasionally, I would have a minor dispute with Nopardons on some random topic. After several volleys, back and forth, she would still be fully engaged for battle, debate and correction, but just to end it, I’d often just cease knocking her metaphoric tennis ball back across the net to her.
I may let her have the last word. Let her think that she had ‘won’ the debate due to her pure righteousness of purpose. Otherwise, the tennis game would never end, at least not with us still being civil to each other. I was ready to change the subject. I have people like that in my family.
She knew exactly who she was, and what she thought and believed. (And she had vast experience to back it all up.)
There are plenty of people here like that.
Prayers up. One of the best— smart and feisty and took no prisoners. May she rest easy in the hands of God. RIP.
Oh that’s awful. We are losing Freeper after Freeper.
Thanks.
I just wish the ones we’re gaining were of the same caliber.
