McDonald’s ‘biggest’ half-pound burger ever and calorie bomb is finally coming to the US - here’s when and how much it will cost

Holy cow! McDonald’s biggest burger ever is finally coming to the US.

The fast-food chain revealed that the Big Arch Burger will be rolling out nationally on Tuesday, March 3 — and they’re calling it their “most McDonald’s, McDonald’s burger” yet, per the McDonald’s Menu Spotter.

Lucky for New York City-based Golden Arch fans, the highly anticipated burger is already widely available in Manhattan, according to the McDonald’s app.

The burger, available for a limited time, is “a love letter to fans who simply can’t get enough,” featuring two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of melted white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, slivered raw onions, lettuce, pickles and Big Arch Sauce.

Big Arch Sauce is described as “a tangy, creamy sauce with a perfect balance of mustard, pickle and sweet tomato flavors.”

The new burger first garnered cult fandom across Canadian and European markets in 2024 and was eventually added to the permanent menu in the UK and Ireland.

Weighing in at 14 ounces total — compared to the total 3.5 ounces of a standard burger — the Big Arch Burger is the chain’s biggest burger.

And with a big burger comes big calories and a big price.

The new Big Arch Burger consists of 1,020 calories, according to the McDonald’s website.

When it hits $25, I'll have to call it quits. Used to like the fish sammy with extra tartar sauce. Seemed pricey 10 years ago.

I think Wendy’s has had this for about 50 years. It’s called a Wendy’s double.

We’ve had this in Australia since last year. Seems like a double quarter pounder with three slices of cheese. Can’t be sure I’m right as I haven’t had it.

In screenshots posted to social media, the price seems to range from $7.59 to $9.29 for the burger alone, and a combo meal with fries and soda will range from $11.09 to $14.29.

I’m not a huge fan of BBQ sauce on a burger 🍔
(Different one) but McDonald’s had a great one a
couple of years ago. And the coupon worked for it.

It was $8.79 or $9.49 but I liked it.

I think it was a double quarter pounder with cheese.

Basically a Double Quarter Pounder with some extra, and very unhealthy, crap.

Healthiest option, by far, is a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and then throw away the bun (and add up to two more beef patties if you’re hungry).

Price is a big factor in why someone is eating at McD’s in the first place, so when you start talking about a $9 burger, then maybe another $6 for fries and a drink, you’re at $15. And a that price point, maybe someone says, “Huh, for that money I could possibly eat a full-service restaurant, so why again am I doing this?” It’s analogous to if Denny’s or Cracker Barrel started offering a USDA prime steak for $50. That might be a fair price for that meal, but maybe most Denny’s customers just don’t to spend that much in a Denny’s

If they ever make there smaller burgers taste good then I might think about trying one. And that’s a big if.

Slammed plenty of these back in the day until I went inside and saw gloveless assemblers at my location. Done. What are they up to now - $40?
