Consistently, and even as recently as the State of the Union address, President Donald Trump has not minced words when speaking about issues that are obviously dangerous and destructive to America.
How, then, is it possible that, with so many outlandish, persistent issues, ordinary folks seem to be missing the blatantly obvious? For example, why do everyday Americans listen to the twisted “logic” of the Woke mindset and not say, “What?! That doesn’t make sense?!”
Think about the waywardness of woke thinking when it comes to addressing three extremely simple, straightforward ideas President Trump posited:
1. “There are two sexes.”
2. “Men masquerading as women do not belong in women’s sports.”
3. “The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”
To an overwhelming majority of people, these questions are answered simply: Yes.
And even if we currently live in a world that pressures people to question these very questions, once brought out into the light of a public forum, should we not expect that any observer would exclaim, “Of course! I see that! In fact, I knew that all along!”
When using a rational mind, people store away what they have seen or heard so that when the same or similar experience presents itself, they can deal with the new event, evidence, or fact rationally. At least, that’s the way learning is supposed to work—and is even designed to work.
Can an irrational thought process, then, help to explain how a person can see something that’s plain as day, but not interpret it correctly? And can that way of thinking sometimes be due to “mass psychosis,” in which, according to one definition, there is “a collective behavior where a large group of people loses touch with reality”?

Just look at how many people believe all of the woke ideas the democRATs are pushing.
Just look at how many people here, at Free Republic, who believe that it takes two citizen parents to be a Natural Born Citizen. Lunacy is everywhere. Look at all the Sovereign Citizens, too.
It’s truly astounding.
Wake up, voters, you're being duped!
A hell of a lot more people are engaged and thinking than ever before. Thirty years ago almost no one was noticing and saying the things I was noticing and saying. Now I can’t swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting scores of people who are engaged and conversant and saying things they, years ago, were calling my rants. The Left have gone full on crazy and it is being noticed.
The people backing the stupid things know those things are stupid.
They think those stupid things will take them where they want to go if others believe them.
Radical Leftists know the truth can’t help them so selling lies is all they have.
If you refuse to enforce your borders and immigration laws then you won’t have a country.
Most Americans are on the right side of this one. It’s the screaming hysterical left and the MSM that gives them a soapbox and taking their side of the issue that makes it seem like there’s massive support for illegals. There isn’t.
Americans by and large support ICE and deportations and want more of it. After all, it’s one of the main things we voted for.
Because they've been taught/propagandized to hate Trump and America by the media and the schools. They hate Trump, and by extension most of us here on FreeRepublic, more than they love America.
For a normal person, the Democrat mind of today is really just about impossible to figure out. Everything to them seems to be saying “Hate Trump”. The rest of us had reason to think badly of Obama & Biden, but we as a group don’t go around saying we hate them. If I never even met a man, it would be hard to say that I hated him, tho I may have hated the things he did. That’s not exactly what I seem to be hearing from Democrats, some of them at least. And their ideas, at least some of them, are completely unfathomable.
Worst example you could have come up with.
Well, it might come as a shock to some, but I’d vote for Alfred E. Neuman before I’d vote for Crockett..and as far as I know he’s not on the ballot. If he was, it would have to be on the “D” ballot.
I don't necessarily disagree that Lunacy is everywhere, but if that were true, why would Free Republic be 100% void of it?
From Brave browser AI answer to "Natural Born Citizen"
Constitutional Basis: The term appears in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution, which states that only a "natural born Citizen" (or a citizen at the time of the Constitution's adoption) can be President. The Constitution does not explicitly define the term, and the Supreme Court has not definitively ruled on its meaning.
I'd say there's room for a healthy debate without anyone needing to be called a lunatic.
Because people like to believe in lies
Here is a far better question, why do so many elected Republicans (70 + %) fight so hard to protect and fund Democrat delusional anti-American programs and policies?
It's just "conclusion first, evidence afterwards".
Similar to Climate Change, in my opinion. Warm temperatures? Global Warming. Cold Temperatures? Global Warming. Remarkably steady temperatures? Global Warming. Or just call it Climate Change and accept everything as proof that we are destroying the planet.
Trump had eggs for breakfast? See? I told you he was a Nazi! There's your proof!
Most people are not capable of any rational analysis. They have conclusions formed in their head and all evidence always points to the stuff they already "know".
The answer is simple. Despite the claim that the legacy media are dead, most Americans still get their “news” from leftist sources. Nowadays, that could include Apple News, Yahoo News, the local big daily newspapers, as well as YouTube, the AP, Linked In, and a host of entertainment sites such as Variety and Hollywood Reporter. Plus the women’s magazines. We have a long way to go before we achieve a balanced media.
Which is exactly why our system of government cannot work.
The flipside of that coin is the abandonment of logic when everything is based on emotion. The elite of the left know this, and marxist thing, though it proclaims to be, "scientific," is at its core, based on the emotion of envy. The academic elite have seen to it that critical thinking and logic have been largely abandoned. The political elite know that if one arrives at a conclusion or opinion through logic, an intellectually honest person can have their opinion changed by pointing out any flaws in their logic; however, an opinion that has been formed by emotion is much harder to change even in the face of cold hard reality. This is why we have people who get mugged and raped and still somehow feel sorry for their assailants.
When you couple all that with the comfort and security of groupthink it becomes incredibly difficult to dislodge somebody from a position regardless of how demonstrably inane it might be. This is why the left emphasizes community over individualism and why persons who leave the plantation are dealt with harshly.
