I have watched several shows and podcasts on this topic. Its clear that they were in India. Roman coinage was used in ancient Vietnam but that may just have been because it was brought their by Indians. There is some evidence they were in China but its not solid and it may just be that the Chinese knew about the Romans but that the two didn’t actually trade delegations.

Its clear that they were in India.
The fact that the Apostle Thomas was in India is a separate proof of that. I think Thomas was headed further east when he was martyred.

Despite centuries of success with large ships built for the Indian Ocean routes, I'd be amazed if the remains of at least a few of those huge ships and their cargoes aren't there to be found on the seafloor.
