Disney is facing intense criticism for introducing a new cartoon superhero named “Captain Durag” on its Disney Jr. show “Hey AJ! The character, who debuted in the middle of Black History Month, has been slammed by leftists as tone-deaf, stereotypical, and disrespectful to black culture.
Captain Durag is depicted as a black superhero fighting “grime” in Slime City, with his durag serving as both his cape and a mask that covers the upper part of his face.

“Captain Durag” Like a Do-rag (Hairdo rag), the bandana guys (not just black ones) with shaved heads wear around their heads to prevent sunburn?
Yes, it’s the Disney Hebrew version of black culture again. In Wakanda they have spears, but they shoot lasers. They have spaceships but there are lion skin rugs on the floor. I never blame black folks for these movies because a black director or screen writer or producer can’t walk into Hollywood and propose a movie just as I couldn’t waltz into the diamond district in New York and start my own jewelry stall.
They also had a hissy fit over the very cool monkeys in Jungle Book.
