Sir Isaac Newton's End Of The World Prediction Is More Complicated Than We Thought
MSM ^ | 7/19/25 | Elias Nash

Posted on 02/20/2026 11:56:26 AM PST by Pontiac

During his lifetime, Newton kept his theological works highly private, which may have been in part to avoid conflict with the Anglican Church. The two were at odds because the Church preached the doctrine of the Trinity, something which Newton strongly rejected under the belief that God has no equals. When Newton died in 1727 without a will, a pair of distant relations took possession of all his private papers, and chose to keep the work hidden from the public because they were devout Anglicans who didn't want to publicize what they saw as heretical material.

Newton reached his end of the world prediction late in life, although precisely when is unknown. The date, and the calculations he used to determine it, were found written on a letter addressing him as "Sir Isaac Newton," meaning he wrote it after his knighthood was bestowed in 1705. The actual math he used to reach the date was simple arithmetic, but it was built on one specific belief: his rejection of the doctrine of the Trinity.

Snip

In order to determine the date of Armageddon, Newton used the prophetic period of 1,260 days, mentioned several times in Revelations and the Book of Daniel. Like many biblical scholars of the time, he believed these days actually represented future years in prophecy, and determined that 1,260 years was the time that would pass between the beginning of the apostate system and the end of the world. He set the origin of the apostasy at 800, coinciding with the founding of the Holy Roman Empire, and by adding 1,260 years, determined that Armageddon will be upon us in 2060.

An old article but I searched the title and did not find it.

When it came to physics, Newton was a genius, a revolutionary genius.

But I’m less confident about any predictions he made outside of his area of expertise. Sort of like a master plumber telling me what the price of gold will be five years from now.

Newton and the Exploitation of Science

Newton was an alchemist who probably had mercury poisoning from using it as a regent to try to make gold.

After 2012 and the Mayan calender debacle I haven’t had much to look forward to. 2060 is year I can get behind.

If you want to get serious about this subject—figure out the future history date at which Star Trek says warp drive will be discovered. I asked AI about this. here is the answer:

In official Star Trek canon (primarily Star Trek: First Contact and reflected across Enterprise, Voyager, The Next Generation, etc., as documented on Memory Alpha), warp drive was discovered/invented and first successfully used by humanity on April 5, 2063.
Here are the precise details from canon:

Zefram Cochrane (a human scientist/engineer working in Bozeman, Montana, in the post-World War III era) developed the warp drive technology during the 2060s.
He and his team (including Lily Sloane) built the Phoenix, a converted Titan II nuclear missile turned warp ship, with design work dating back to at least 2059 (per the ship’s blueprint).
The first successful manned warp flight — the moment warp drive was demonstrated to break the light-speed barrier and thus ā€œdiscovered/used for the first timeā€ in practical, history-changing terms — took place on April 5, 2063 (launch around 11:00 a.m. local time).

///////////
Of course it could be only a coincidence that Newton’s prediction comes at roughly the same time as warp drive.

imho warp drive may come sooner because back in the 1990’s ray kurizweil predicted that the singularity would arrive in the 2040’s. but now the best minds are saying we have entered the singularity.

Many of the best minds of the age are saying that AI will enable us to develop a new physics in the next year or two. That new physics is what will enable the creation of a warp drive to get people to the stars.

Maybe you can look forward to 2060 but I at least am sure I will have gone to my reward before then.

I would not go so far as to say that Newton was an expert but you could not say he was not learned on the subject of the Bible.

All colleges of his day were what we call today seminaries.

You could not go to any college and not be instructed thoroughly on the Christian religion. Harvard and Yale were both established as seminaries.

Physics isn’t my bag, but from what I understand the sun will begin to expand and its luminosity increase. Then sometime in a billion years it will boil the oceans away.

Those 3 Newtons laws on motion, I used them everyday in my l
Mechanical engineering work. But the most brilliant Newtons creation was invention of calculus. I used calculus so many times in my practice of mechanical engineering. Bless his brilliant soul.

Humanity will be extinct long before sun gobbles up tiny earth. A million earths will fit inside the Sun. We are smaller than a tiny tick on a bull elephants behind.

Not a bad call from four hundred years ago but I believe it will happen before 2060. I don’t think the method has any validity, Holy Roman Empire plus 1260 years - neither seems correct to me (the event for a countdown, nor the assumption of days to years, which begs the question, wouldn’t one then expect to wait a further 30 years for the abomination and 45 years for the blessing so that in fact Newton’s prediction would be for the Kingdom to arrive in 2135 AD.
