Sorry
It was nice seeing Canada cry. Elbows down.
USA USA
and Alyssa Liu just blew the roof off in womens figure skating...
Posters on FR were asked to not put the results in the header or body so as to not “spoil” it for those that were waiting to watch the delayed telecast.
My attitude is that if one wants to avoid seeing results of anything before they are wanting to, stay off the internet.
You have nothing to apologize for. 👍
Did the Canadian Team play for the Chinese Flag?
I always think in competitions structured this way it’s better to get the bronze than the silver. You win your last game to get the bronze. You lose to get the silver. Everybody would rather win the last game, even if it’s for a “lower” prize.
It was on television ... USA Network here on my Fios system. Internet had nothing to do with it.

We used to care back then.
What a great finish!
I’m planning on watching when I get home from work. But I’m not spoiler phobic. Indeed, for those that are stay off the internet. I remember the actual Miracle was tape delay, but all the news place broke in to announce it. Still a great game.
That wasva sweet deke!
Now we have to beat them in woman’s curling!
I saw some reporter on the scene asking a Canadian hockey fan what “elbows up” meant. The guy got a blank expression on his face and just said “I don’t know”.
Care for who/what?
Fellow FR posters, the Olympics, both?
Was not aware if that.
In international hockey circles, it’s pretty much understood that modern U.S. hockey players are sore losers on the international stage — so if they lose in the semifinals, they basically just go through the motions and mail it in for the bronze medal game.
You may have seen NBC Peacock’s fawning coverage a couple days ago of the on-ice engagement of US team captain Hilary Knight to her girlfriend.
I actually knew the results of the 1980 USA-Soviet Union hockey match before it was televised. Some neighbor blabbed and I over heard it. And then I noticed even before ABC televised it, Jim McKay couldn’t contain himself.
Apparently it aired smack in the middle of a workday in the US.
Many may have not been able to watch it live but recorded it for later viewing.
My initial post was a poor attempt at humor in saying that since the results were prominently in the header, I didn’t need to watch what I wasn’t going to watch anyway.
All that said, my position remains unchanged…stay off the internet if you want to remain uninformed about anything until such time as you are ready to be informed…..and hopefully you don’t encounter a blabber mouthed neighbor in the meantime.
