Sad, hopefully not to callus but one should really know their limits when exercising such activities.

The key to hiking Madmani’s highest peak in New Yawk is do it in the summer. Global warming will kill ya in the winter.

Many people has hobbies that require common sense, or bad things happen. Snow skiing in avalanche conditions, flying at night at low AGL or into IMC, and surfing with the sharks are a few.

Dopamine is a heck of a natural drug.

Hiking alone in single digit temperatures. Where do people get the idea this is a safe thing to do. Eight back country skiers dead in Tahoe after they ignored blizzard and Avalanche warnings. Good judgment seems to be a rare commodity these days.

Temperatures in Keene, New York, where the mountain is located, ranged from -8 to 20 degrees that day...

Unfortunately a case of FAFO, risked her life most likely for the social media hits.

She should have known the temps before she set out - and if she did, would have saved the hike for another day. If she didn't check the temps, she was inexperienced and shouldn't have been hiking at all.

Did she get the “clicks” she was looking for when she pulled that stunt?

How foolish! She put rescuers lives at risk all for a few likes on social media. It’s not as if it wasn’t known that the temperature was deadly cold.

There's such a simple solution if you are out in the wilderness by yourself. My wife bought one for me (though, at times, I think she'd rather I left it behind).

This would have saved her life. As would basic survival gear like a light tent, a small stove, a bit of food, and a space blanket. Heading out in those temps without such equipment is just nuts.

The Adirondacks have sure grown taller since I was last there. That first picture almost looks like Yosemite.

New York’s highest peak in winter? Whoever said G*d protects drunks and fools didn’t think of this scenario.

And social media logs another kill. When the quest of posting a “breathtaking Instagram photo” overrules your common sense, you lose. She’s not the first, and will not be the last.

Still safer than hiking in New Jersey in winter.
