NBC's streaming service Peacock has experienced bugs and errors throughout its coverage of the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina. Perhaps the biggest and most inconvenient one has been when the broadcasts randomly cut to advertisements in the midst of the action.
While this issue has been prevalent throughout the games, it's biggest offense came during Sunday morning's coverage of the men's hockey match between Canada and France.
Canada, the heavy favorites for the gold medal, was up 10-2 in a demolition of Les Blues when the streamer suddenly cut to a commercial break in the middle of the action. By the time the broadcast resumed, Canadian enforcer Tom Wilson had discarded his gloves and was being skated to the penalty box.
It turns out, while advertisements were playing, Wilson got into the first fight of these Winter Games with French defenseman Pierre Crinon.
Fighting in Olympic hockey results in an automatic ejection, which means this may have been the only altercation fans will see in the entire tournament.
But, thanks to the error, the only way fans watching on the streaming service knew what happened came from a brief replay of the melee.
After Crinon was caught elbowing Canadian star Nathan MacKinnon up high, Wilson delivered a heavy hit on the Frenchman, leading to a brief exchange of punches.
Video from a Czechia journalist showed the action spilling over as Wilson appeared to go back at Crinon - with the two continuing to fight inside of the goal crease before being separated.
Cameras caught Wilson walking down the tunnel to the locker room as a result of his ejection.

"Canada's Tom Wilson (L) and France's Pierre Crinon (R) clashed in the contest"
Let me guess, France surrendered as soon as the fight started.

"If I get in a fight, they'll eject me from the game. You wouldn't want that to happen -- would you McFly?"
Why would anyone PAY for a streaming service (Peacock) if THERE ARE COMMERCIALS anyway ??
I was watching the US curling team defeat Sweden and as soon as game ended, was told to go to Peacock streaming to see the upcoming US vs. Norway curling match. I never know what’s on where.
They paid to watch a hockey brawl but Olympic coverage broke out. 📺
I found it on USA channel through YT TV.
US 5
DE 1
@ 5 minutes to go.
The Olympics!
When are they having those?
A long time ago, television was free and came in over the air. But they had commercials so that TV stations could make a profit.
Then they invented Cable TV. You had to pay a monthly fee -- but there were no commercials!!
Then they put commercials on Cable TV.
Then they invented streaming services that you had to pay for on top of the Cable fees you were already paying. And they had commercials.
Life is now a series of subscriptions and rentals. You will own nothing. And you will be happy. And there will be commercials.
LOL!!
So true.

It used to be about two to three minutes of commercials per hour. Now it is 20 minutes per hour.
"France surrendered as soon as the fight started."
There is a more expensive option one can get without the commercials
I read that the French guy took the penalty for the elbow and later apologized to the guy. Then Wilson went after the French guy.

nope. biggest offense was women's curling us vs canada. went to commercial in end 6 with two stones left. came back to tell us "wow! that was exciting! us won by four stones! too bad y'all missed it!" then, during the rest of the match, talked about how important that win in end 6 was.
grrrrr.
Premium Pay is intended to get people to buy their service. They are raising their prices so they can buy the events to lock them out of regular folk, which is the mission of elites.
No. He threw the Canadian low life to the ice quite handily.
Wilson is the biggest scumbag in the NHL.
Would have been nice to see him beaten more but the refs protected the pussy.
