A long time ago, television was free and came in over the air. But they had commercials so that TV stations could make a profit.

Then they invented Cable TV. You had to pay a monthly fee -- but there were no commercials!!

Then they put commercials on Cable TV.

Then they invented streaming services that you had to pay for on top of the Cable fees you were already paying. And they had commercials.

Life is now a series of subscriptions and rentals. You will own nothing. And you will be happy. And there will be commercials.

There is a more expensive option one can get without the commercials

There aren’t if you watch the replays. BUT if they cut to commercial, ie didn’t have the cameras on, then you still get the skip ahead.

I pay for it because it has some series that my wife likes - and the bottom-end Netflix that my phone company pays for has ads too - ads keep the cost down.

That said, as of late, Peacock seems to be having some issues - like maybe it’s being overloaded. When I bring the app up, I have to wait about 10 seconds before navigating because it is unresponsive...like maybe it’s not fully loaded and ready to go even though the screen looks right.
