HGTV's Rehab Addict has been canceled after its star, Nicole Curtis, was caught using a racial slur while filming the series
A video of Curtis using the n-word while filming the show was posted by Radar on Wednesday, Feb. 11, the same day it was set to return
"Not only is language like this hurtful and disappointing to our viewers, partners, and employees - it does not align with the values of HGTV," the network said in a statement to PEOPLE

Odd this news broke the same day her new season opener was to begin. Someone must have had it in for her. Timing just seems odd.

With the total coarseness of today’s language, why should any word be off limits. Lately it appears to be completely in vogue to throw the f-bomb around willy-nilly, so I don’t see the issue. Selective outrage is so tiresome.
But a network about homes and gardens DOES align with a show about rehabbing drug addicts? Ok.

It’s not like it was a live broadcast. They could have edited it if they wanted to. This looks more like they were looking for any reason to fire her without repercussions, so they jumped on this.

I’m guessing Nicole is not black. Black people are allowed to be racists. Whites are not.
Some of The richest blacks in the world made their living out of profiting from that word. Jay Z. ‘Dr. Dre.’ ‘Snoop Dog’ and blacks with other equally ridiculous Nick names. How many basketball Americans utter that word every five seconds? It is ridiculous how that stupid word is weaponized.

The network said that the racial slur doesn’t align with their network’s values, which makes sense. My point was, if your network is about homes and gardens, why do you have a show about rehabbing drug addicts on it? Do drug addicts align with their values? Rehabbing or not, what does it have to do with homes and gardens? Are the rehabbing drug addicts renovating houses or planting gardens as a way to stay off drugs?
Just so long as we all agree its perfectly acceptable for all minorities to use any slur word they like about white people its a great day for civil rights.(?) 🤔
