“An Arizona sheriff is blocking FBI access to key evidence in the investigation into the abduction of U.S. television journalist Savannah Guthrie's mother, impairing its ability to assist in the probe, a U.S. law enforcement official with knowledge of the case told Reuters on Thursday. The FBI asked Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos for physical evidence in the case, including a glove and DNA from the home of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, to be processed at the FBI's national crime laboratory in Quantico, Virginia, but Nanos has insisted instead on using a private lab in Florida, the official said. Outsourcing forensic analysis to a Florida contractor, effectively denying the access of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to crucial evidence in the case, is delaying the FBI ability to assist in the case, according to the official.”

Where do you think the body is? Or. Do you think the poor lady is alive? Personally, I think this wasn’t a kidnapping but a home burglary gone south. Ms Guthrie shows up and things crashed. I hope I’m wrong but I’d trust Fed locally, more than the sheriff, with Trump watching, off to the side. Like the man said, who can you trust? No One!
Because the crime is at this time known to be within the borders of Arizona, the FBI is secondary. However, this is just plain stupid on the part of the sheriff.
I think they have the poor old Guthrie lady in a stash house in Rio Rico or right across the border in Nogales.
Nancy weighs 150 lbs...and she can't walk very far. I think there were two men who could walk her away from the residence...
I believe she is alive...but kept separate from the two men. Maybe in a trailer....so they are moveable...
I just can't see it as a one man job...maybe brothers/cousins...which could make DNA tests up for grabs.

It may be as simple as the Sheriff wanting to solve the crime himself so he gets elected again.

After seeing the video clip of the bumbling intruder that remains a possibility. Even though the Carolina Foothills is relatively low in crime, it borders high crime areas of Tucson. It could be meth heads or intruders with some inside info that wasn't accurate. I doubt this was a grudge hit or kidnapping for ransom by professionals.
