Annually and increasingly, tens of thousands of people are leaving blue states because of politics.
If you’re old enough, you’ll recall the 1961 Berlin crisis. I recall it subsequently, when schools taught real history. That crisis happened during the Cold War’s peak years. In brief, Soviet leader Nikita Krushchev wanted the U.S. out of West Berlin. There were multiple reasons, but, chiefly, access to West Berlin allowed East Germans to escape communist rule.
According to the National Archives, by 1961, as many as four million Germans had escaped East Germany using West Berlin. With tensions rising, and the hemorrhaging increasing, Khrushchev ordered the Soviets’ East German puppet government to string barbed wire and erect concrete barricades around West Berlin to stop the outflow. That was the beginning of the Berlin Wall, which stood as a testament to communism’s failure until 1989.
What does that have to do with America today? The point is that people vote with their feet when conditions become unacceptable. That’s no less true here. Since the nation’s inception -- in fact, long before the founding -- people came to the continent to escape troubles and moved west in search of better lives. East Germans fled primarily because of politics -- albeit, of a brutal, totalitarian stripe.
Annually and increasingly, tens of thousands of people are leaving blue states because of politics. High taxes and red tape, inflated costs, unchecked crime, failing schools, and unashamed race bias -- directed at whites -- are pushing people out. Soft political tyranny and cultural decay are drivers. Human nature is universal. People will endure until they cannot.
That’s bleak news for blue states. Regardless how many times Gavin Newsom shrugs, ongoing outmigration is having adverse consequences for California and its blue cousins. Red states are benefitting.

Will California put up a wall?
“Red states are benefitting.”
J.Robert may want to think even just slightly down the road.
Left thinking people moving to “Red” states will soon enough through their still voting for the Leftist stupidity that created the “Blue” state problems, get enough people elected to certain positions, or even just work in certain positions, to create the same problems in the “Red” states.
You cannot out run these problems, there will soon be no where to go.
pray for Holy Spirit to convict the minds and hearts of people out of line with His wise ways and plans for everything (couples/marriage, education, running govt, self responsibility so less hand-outs needed, don’t steal or kill, etc etc etc.).
In someways they are already trying, setting up tax laws to penalize people who leave even after they have settled into a new state.
Basically, telling people, you can leave, but we are going tax you regardless so you might as well stay.
A good reminder.
I cannot help but think that Texas Governor Abbott was ALLOWED to do what he did because NYC wanted free bussing. In essence, the invasions countries (and states) are seeing, is the necessary consequence of the Berlin Bleed.
I continue to believe that every state is a Red state. Even in the “blue states”, the elections are generally very close. And the results in the “blue states” are so unacceptable to the people who live in the “blue states” that tens of thousands of people every year feel compelled to physically move to an actual Red state that better represents their values. And why are the “blue states” considered Blue? Election fraud. From California to Massachusetts, fraud is the only reason any state is “blue”.
The Dems love it. They don’t care about the misery they create for those that can’t move. They love what their retarded escapees do to their new homes. I’m looking at Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho.
When your policies can’t persuade the voters, replace the voters.
Tax and spend but fill your pockets first ?
There have been numerous attempts to tax people who leave blue jurisdictions, including taxing commuters into San Francisco for example. These have been ongoing for decades.
In short, the fascist control freaks know very well that their policies will push productive people to flee. They see flight as illegitimate means to avoid paying their due in support of their misbegotten charges (an indentured constituency). So they go about collecting as usual, witless to the havoc for which they are accountable. It's easy to ignore such when clinking crystal across white tablecloths at expensive restaurants in competitive virtue signaling sessions, er "meetings."
I remember well Governor Reagan in the 1960s talking about welfare programs with overhead costs 17 times what was actually delivered in aid. In other words, this is nothing new.
Conservatives should stay and fight. Trade California weather for those summers in Texas and Florida? No way. Housing is expensive-blame government.
Blame New York, whose escapees destroyed California.
The coalition of City States rules the Blue states. The City States have enough votes to overcome the red counties
My view on the City States — using Philadelphia as an example:
Everybody “knows” that Philadelphia will vote heavily Democrat. It’s the demographics of the Inner City. It’s a sure thing.
Imagine that blacks start losing faith in the Democrats. Imagine that Inner City blacks start actually leaning toward someone like Trump. Imagine polls that show Philadelphia might actually shift a bit toward the Republicans.
And then — BOOM! — the election results in Philadelphia somewhat magically shows that 98% of the voters went full Democrat. Turnout was 117% of registered voters, and 98% of them voted Democrat.
No one would be “surprised”. Everyone would shrug. Everybody “knows” that Philadelphia will vote heavily Democrat. But did it happen? Maybe not. But then the whole state goes “blue” and everyone says “Well, it’s those city states, you know ...”
I say it’s Fraud.
You are correct.
The election fraud is existential for the Democrats.
“California”
The highest percentage of whites that were in a group that I saw was 40%. That was at the Getty.
....so why are “blue states” Blue? Election fraud.
......voter fraud is the only reason any state is “blue”.

Not true for Colorado:
“Colorado has been on a clear upward population trajectory over the past decade. Multiple data sources show consistent growth:
Population Trend
Colorado’s population grew from about 5.0 million in 2010 to roughly 5.84 million in 2022, an increase of 15.7%.
More recent estimates place the state at 5.96 million in 2024, continuing the upward trend.
Census data also confirms steady growth from 5.03 million in 2010 to 5.77 million in 2020, and further increases through 2024–2025.”
Overall Conclusion
Colorado’s population has increased over the last 10 years. Growth has slowed somewhat in recent years due to reduced net migration, but the total number of residents continues to rise.
“Trade California weather for those summers in Texas and Florida?”
Summers in Florida are no worse than in much of the US.
I tend to travel in the spring. The flowering season starts in late March in Georgia and ends around mid-May in the Northeast.
“Trade California weather for those summers in Texas and Florida?”
Over 50% house-to-lot coverage in common in much of built-up California.
Dehumidifiers powered by solar panels could suck humidity out of the air around outdoor patio areas.
Plantings could be such as to minimize water loss to the surrounding air.
Reflective paint could reduce the impact of incident solar rays.
I used to live in Colorado, but not any more. I left during the COVID debacle.
