Aside from Damon, who leads the proceedings as King Odysseus, The Odyssey boasts a star-studded supporting cast. The additional lineup features Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Mia Goth, and Travis Scott, among others.

Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated fantasy epic, The Odyssey, may be months away from its theatrical release date, but the movie’s first review has already come out. In a recent discussion, Jonathan Nolan, the brother and frequent collaborator of The Dark Knight director, provided his assessment of the upcoming Matt Damon-led drama, stating that it was a “tremendous” watch for him.

Jonathan Nolan says The Odyssey ‘is a spectacular film' During a recent sit-down, the younger Nolan sibling shared his review of The Odyssey, which is still five months away from hitting the theaters.

“I’m not working on The Odyssey,” Jonathan Nolan noted to CinemaBlend, before adding, “I have seen The Odyssey. It’s tremendous. It’s an incredible achievement. I was fascinated by The Iliad and The Odyssey when I was younger, and I had some fun conversations with Chris about where he’s taking it. It’s a spectacular film.”

When asked if he had watched the entirety of his brother’s forthcoming directorial feature, the Westworld co-creator replied, “I’m not sure I’m supposed to say that, but yes, it’s tremendous.”

Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey serves as an adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic of the same name and follows the journey of the Greek king Odysseus (Matt Damon). After the conclusion of the Trojan War, he decides to return to his wife and son in his kingdom of Ithaca. However, in order to reunite with his family, Odysseus must face a host of mythical threats and triumph over every hurdle in his perilous journey.

I’ll see this movie based on Nolan’s history of excellent movies, but the casting choices are raising some doubts about how good this can be. I’m up for suspending disbelief in the service of a good story, but Matt Damon as Odysseus is a real stretch, and a black Helen defies all common sense.

I will go see this in the movie theaters. Odysseus was away from home for 20 years. 10 years at war, 10 years making it back to Ithaca with his men. Charlize Theron as Circe will be prime. Jon Bernthal is dynamic.

John Leguizamo is the only real dud in casting.

Well, that settles it. If Jon Nolan says his brother’s movie is great, what more could anyone want?!!

“black Helen defies all common sense”

This is rumors and gossip. I doubt this will happen. Nolan might have started this fake leak to hype up his movie.

Lupita Nyong’o is the subject of this leak.

I’d rather it was the guy who did 300, or Gladiator.

Now Helen is melanated. Gotta keep it real for the urban audience. “Medea Goes to Troy Next Friday” The wig that launched a thousand riots.

I wish I had the money to make a movie. I would cast Gary Busey as MLK.

'Nobody is hurting me!'. What the Cyclops was screaming as a red hot log was being driven into his only eye. There is a theory that the ancients found the bones of a Woolly Mammoth and figured it was once a giant one eyed human based on the hole in the skull .

It has been awhile since we've had any new movies based on Greek mythology. With the latest technology it could be quite spectacular. What concerns me is how much woke nonsense is going to be packed into it.

Hell-No of Detroit, the face that could not even launch a canoe is part of that worry!

A Black woman playing Helen of Troy.

An absurdity that dooms it at the box office.

Hollywood is simply not capable of making a movie that appeals to America, or normal people. I used to think it was the executive forces holding down the writers, forcing them to put woke (I hate that ghetto term) messaging into their writing. But, like other communist tendencies, I believe the writers hate America more than the heads of the studios.

However I’m really looking forward to Boondock Saints III.
